A Brief Overview
The Workstation Specialist is responsible for supporting the workstation systems. This is an entry-level technical position responsible for supporting and maintaining end user technologies that support the organization. The Workstation Specialist provides an excellent experience in performing deskside services for our colleagues.
What You Will Do
- Provide 2nd level technical support by creating and/or resolving standard and escalated IT support cases. Assist with problem tickets, working towards root cause identification and remediation.
- Perform operating system, application software and firmware upgrades and patches for all physical and virtual workstation systems.
- Perform equipment inventory management supporting new hire onboarding, offboarding, and device refreshes.
- Execute the vulnerability management process and enforce security hardening policies.
- Provide on-site support for office moves and conferencing needs
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Complies with all policies and standards
- Own zero‑touch provisioning and imaging workflows (e.g., Autopilot for Windows, ADE/DEP for macOS), including asset tagging, inventory accuracy, and deprovisioning.
- Configuration Management & Packaging: Build/maintain endpoint configuration baselines and Win32/macOS packages; manage application updates and remediation scripts using Intune and/or SCCM; leverage Jamf for macOS where applicable.
- Patching & Compliance: Manage OS and application patching cadence (WSUS/Intune/SCCM/Jamf), track SLAs, and publish weekly compliance metrics; drive vulnerability remediation in partnership with Security.
- Security Hardening: Enforce full‑disk encryption (BitLocker/FileVault), device health checks, local firewall rules, application control (AppLocker/Defender), and Conditional Access posture; support EDR agent health (e.g., CrowdStrike).
- Identity & Access : Support Azure AD join/Entra ID, SSO integrations, and device compliance policies; troubleshoot device registration and Conditional Access outcomes.
- Governance & Documentation : Keep SOPs, standards, and technical docs current; contribute to audit artifacts for controls (SOX/ISO) and to change records (CAB)
Education Qualifications
- Associate's Degree IT-related field desired, or equivalent education and/or related work experience. preferred
Experience Qualifications
- Typically 2+ years preferred

- Advanced verbal, written communication, customer service and analytical skills (Advanced proficiency)
- Proficient PC hardware troubleshooting skills (Intermediate proficiency)
- Exhibited proficiency in Apple Mac and Windows OS management (Intermediate proficiency)
- Basic Citrix administration and support skills (Intermediate proficiency)
- Basic Microsoft Office 365 and other standard software skills (Advanced proficiency)
- Basic Active Directory, Azure, InTune and JAMF device management skills (Intermediate proficiency)
- Basic Networking technologies skills understanding DHCP, DNS, TCP/IP protocols, and troubleshooting skills" (Intermediate proficiency)
Licenses and Certifications
- MCDST - Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician preferred
- CompTIA Certification preferred
Travel Requirements
Up to 10% local and national travel may be required.
