Primary Responsibility:

Vulnerability Management is responsible for identifying, assessing, prioritizing, and tracking remediation of security vulnerabilities across operating systems, networks, middleware, endpoints, external perimeter, and containerized environments. The role requires hands-on experience with Rapid7 vulnerability management tools, system hardening, segmentation testing, and alignment with regulatory and compliance requirements

Vulnerability Assessment & Management

1. Conduct regular vulnerability scans on:
2. Operating systems (Windows, Linux, Unix)
3. Network devices (firewalls, routers, switches)
4. Middleware and databases
5. Endpoints and servers
6. External / internet-facing assets
7. Perform authenticated and unauthenticated scans and validate scan results.
8. Execute external vulnerability assessments (VA) and exposure analysis.
9. Support network segmentation penetration testing and validation.

Hardening & Secure Configuration

1. Review systems against CIS benchmarks and vendor hardening standards.
2. Perform post-remediation validation scans.
3. Validate secure configuration and patch compliance.
4. Perform post-remediation validation scans.
5. Coordinate with infrastructure, network, and application teams for vulnerability remediation.
6. Container & Cloud Vulnerability Scanning
7. Conduct container image and runtime vulnerability scanning.
8. Identify vulnerabilities in Docker and Kubernetes environments.
9. Support vulnerability assessment of cloud workloads (AWS / Azure / GCP).

Risk Analysis & Reporting

1. Analyze vulnerabilities using CVSS scoring, exploitability, and business impact.
2. Prepare vulnerability reports, dashboards, and SLA tracking metrics.
3. Track remediation status and escalate overdue or high-risk vulnerabilities.

Compliance & Audit Support : Ensure vulnerability management aligns with:

1. RBI Cybersecurity Framework
2. ISO 27001
3. PCI DSS
4. NIST / CIS Controls
5. Support internal and external audits by providing evidence, reports, and remediation status.
