User Acquisition Manager

We've grown apps from near zero to millions in revenue, managed $100mm+ in ad spend profitably & sustainably, made 10,000+ ads - and helped multiple companies get to successful exits.

We also host the Mobile User Acquisition Show, the industry-leading podcast about all things mobile-growth related: and we’ve written numerous in-depth playbooks on all things mobile marketing.

We're currently looking for a seasoned growth marketer to be our User Acquisition Manager(we are open to senior positions for more experienced candidates) - to drive strategy and operations across a portfolio of marketing channels for our clients.

Ideally this role starts off as a freelance/contract position - and grows into a part or full time role based on mutual interest. We're flexible on what the specifics of this could look like for the right candidates - including a possible role that stays part-time/freelance long term.

(We prefer candidates that have significant time overlap with European time zones - and at least some overlap with North American time zones).

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

• You are an experienced growth marketer who has ideally managed 6 figures a month in user acquisition spend for an established product or app.
• You're proficient in Facebook ads - and are capable of managing complex, multi-geo, multi-campaign accounts - and interfacing with operations and creative teams to drive performance at scale.
• You understand marketing analytics - and are able to discuss and report on downstream product metrics, not just advertising platform reported ones.
• You understand creative strategy & execution - and how this is intertwined with media buying and advertising strategy.
• You understand the nuances of measurement post-ATT - and are able to implement key measurement strategies for products.
• You have strong social skills - and are able to communicate strategically, and navigate conversations where hard questions may be asked.
• You are digitally fluent. Your to-do lists feel finite and manageable. You know and understand project management tools(Trello, Asana etc.), and communication tools like Slack. You are comfortable collaborating remotely and asynchronously via Google Docs, spreadsheets etc.

YOUR DAY TO DAY

There are 3 key components of this role:

1. Grow our clients' business.

2. Grow our business.

3. Collaborate & manage our projects.

Some of the details of your work will include…

• Independently manage & grow budgets of 6 figures per month in spend.
• Formulate and articulate high level UA strategy to hit key goals.
• Assign tasks and deliverables to the team to drive execution.
• Set up tests and manage execution.
• Set up reporting processes and take over weekly reporting for all key clients.
• Drive client calls & communication.
• Draft clear, detailed reports for clients.
• Prepare clear analyses of in-account trends & changes.
• Assign action items from reports to teams, and ensure timely execution.
• Build systems and processes to drive analysis at scale.

WHY MIGHT ROCKETSHIP HQ NOT BE THE BEST FIT FOR EVERYONE?

• We're a service business - and are very intentional about ensuring that the pace of our growth does not hamper the quality of our work. It's unlikely that we'll be growing at the kind of pace that many venture backed businesses do.
• We're not going to be the next Uber or Facebook. The folks that do well on our team are those that care far more deeply about immersing themselves into the craft of marketing than being a part of a hypergrowth company.
• We're fully remote - and we work mostly asynchronously. We prioritize heads-down, focused time for our team members - and we try to keep meetings to a minimum; which can be very different from the culture of constant in-office and out-of-office interaction that is common in many non-remote companies.
• We have a writing-heavy culture. We write internal memos, client reports, competitive analyses, SoPs among other documents to make sure we communicate clearly without taking up a lot of synchronous time. If this isnt your style, you may not enjoy yourself here.
• We are very process-heavy. Everything we do lives in our project management system and internal resource database.
• We believe that everything we do should be codified - and spelt out in clearly defined steps, so that there are no surprises or secrets; and so we have the mindspace to think of the truly critical stuff.
