Training Manager


Merlis Coimbatore is an elegant new luxury hotel set amidst 4 acres of serene landscapes, ideally located just 2 kilometers from Coimbatore International Airport. The hotel features 142 meticulously designed rooms, five premium dining outlets, and an array of world-class facilities, including two grand ballrooms, a spacious banquet lawn, and six well-equipped meeting rooms. Designed with versatility in mind, Merlis Coimbatore is the perfect destination for corporate MICE functions, large weddings, and distinctive residential-style gatherings that promise an unforgettable experience for every guest.


Duties and Responsibilities

Learning and Development Strategy

  • Design and implement a comprehensive training strategy aligned with the hotel’s goals and brand philosophy.
  • Identify departmental training needs through regular performance reviews and feedback sessions.
  • Develop annual training calendars covering onboarding, technical skills, soft skills, and leadership development.

Training Design and Delivery

  • Create engaging training modules using modern learning techniques and hospitality best practices.
  • Conduct orientation programs for new hires to introduce them to the Merlis culture, values, and service standards.
  • Facilitate in-house workshops, service excellence programs, and cross-training sessions across departments.
  • Coordinate with external training consultants or institutes when specialized programs are required.

Performance Evaluation and Monitoring

  • Track training effectiveness through assessments, mystery audits, and guest feedback.
  • Maintain detailed training records, attendance logs, and evaluation reports for compliance and performance tracking.
  • Collaborate with the HR department to align training outcomes with performance appraisals and promotions.

Leadership and Employee Engagement

  • Coach supervisors and managers to enhance their leadership, communication, and coaching skills.
  • Support employee development initiatives that improve morale, retention, and career growth.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and learning throughout the property.

Compliance and Brand Standards

  • Ensure all training programs comply with brand standards, statutory requirements, and health & safety regulations.
  • Keep updated on hospitality trends, service innovations, and global best practices to keep Merlis competitive.

Continuous Improvement

  • Introduce innovative methods such as e-learning, simulations, and on-the-job coaching.
  • Gather feedback from trainees and department heads to refine training content and delivery.
  • Contribute to maintaining Merlis Coimbatore’s reputation as a benchmark for professional development and service excellence.
