Job Description:Job Title: TL/ Assistant Manager - Power System Engineer- BangaloreJob Overview: You will play a pivotal role in advancing India's transition to a low-carbon power grid. This position is tailored for a senior-level professional with deep expertise in electrical power systems and a strong foundation in project leadership. You�ll be entrusted with leading capital projects focused on the modernization and sustainability of grid infrastructure, including the integration of renewable energy and high-voltage systems.
Key Responsibilities
Power System Design & Analysis
- Lead detailed engineering design for substations, transmission and distribution systems, and energy networks.
- Perform load flow, short circuit, protection coordination, and dynamic stability studies.
- Ensure all system designs align with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Project Management & Execution
- Manage full life cycle of capital projects
- from conceptualization through commissioning.
- Coordinate activities across electrical, mechanical, civil, and environmental teams.
- Monitor project timelines, budgets, risks, and resource allocation to ensure successful delivery.
Protection, Control & SCADA Systems
- Design and implement protection and control schemes for HV and MV systems.
- Integrate SCADA and energy management systems into project frameworks.
- Conduct fault analysis and propose robust protection strategies to maintain system resilience.
Technical Leadership & Mentoring
- Guide and mentor junior engineers and multidisciplinary project teams.
- Review engineering deliverables for quality and technical accuracy.
- Share expertise to build internal technical capacity and promote innovation.
Regulatory Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure engineering activities comply with IEEE, IEC, ANSI, and local standards.
- Prepare technical reports, specifications, audits, and compliance documentation for stakeholders and authorities.
- Participate in risk assessments, quality reviews, and environmental evaluations.
Maintenance & Troubleshooting
- Provide support for operation and optimization of commissioned systems.
- Diagnose and resolve electrical issues using advanced analytical tools.
- Recommend preventive and corrective maintenance procedures.
Innovation & Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and energy efficiency.
- Stay up-to-date on grid modernization trends and new technologies.
Skills & Attributes
- Expertise in power system modeling software: ETAP, PSS/E, DigSILENT PowerFactory, CYME
- Proficiency in electrical CAD software and simulation tools
- Deep understanding of system components: transformers, circuit breakers, relays, protection & control systems
- Familiarity with international industry codes and standards: IEEE, IEC, ANSI
- Knowledge of SCADA systems, energy management systems, and renewable energy integration
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication, presentation, and documentation skills
- Experience in high-voltage and substation design
- Team-oriented and capable of mentoring junior engineers
