Position title
Testing Lead
Description

We are seeking a Testing Lead to establish and drive quality assurance practices across our product ecosystem. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone skilled in testing methodologies, test automation frameworks, CI/CD integration, and exploratory testing, with the ability to scale and mentor a dedicated QA team.

The Testing Lead will manage a team of 6–8 testers, responsible for ensuring that every product release meets the highest standards of quality and reliability. You will work closely with the Engineering Lead, DevOps Lead, and Accessibility Lead to embed testing into every stage of the development lifecycle.

Responsibilities

Test Strategy & Methodology

  • Define and implement testing strategies across functional, regression, integration, performance, and exploratory testing.
  • Develop frameworks for both manual and automated testing.
  • Ensure test coverage is comprehensive and aligned with business-critical workflows.

Test Automation & CI/CD Integration

  • Establish and maintain automated regression test suites integrated into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Collaborate with DevOps to ensure testing is embedded in build/release pipelines.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve automation tools and frameworks.

Team Leadership & Mentorship

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of 6–8 testers.
  • Establish best practices for test documentation, reporting, and bug tracking.
  • Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous learning.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate with Engineering Lead to align development and testing efforts.
  • Partner with Accessibility Lead to ensure accessibility testing is integrated into QA processes.
  • Provide regular reporting on quality metrics and release readiness to stakeholders.
Qualifications
  • 5–7 years of software testing experience, including at least 2–3 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies, strategies, and industry best practices.
  • Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks and tools (flexibility across tools expected).
  • Familiarity with CI/CD practices and integrating automated tests into pipelines.
  • Experience in manual, exploratory, functional, and regression testing.
  • Strong understanding of defect lifecycle, root cause analysis, and quality metrics.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
Evaluation Process


  • Interview Rounds: Testing methodologies, automation expertise, leadership and collaboration interviews.
  • Practical Assignment (Test Design):
    • Design an automated and manual testing strategy for a feature that extracts HTML content from a CMS, processes and decompiles it into different content types, runs each through separate pipelines, and then recompiles and re-uploads the content back into the CMS. The candidate should:
  • Outline the test cases for both manual and automated validation.
  • Propose the automation framework and integration points in the CI/CD pipeline.
  • Identify key risks and strategies to ensure reliability.
