Your Job As a Technology Engineer, you will be at the forefront of pioneering interconnect solutions. Your role involves spearheading research and validation of innovative technologies, tools and processes, ensuring they align with our strategic goals and deliver measurable value. Our Team You'll be part of the Technology Group within PSBU (Power and Signal Business Unit) at Molex’s Consumer and Commercial Solutions (CCS) Division, working at our Global Technology Center (GTC) located in Bengaluru. We are one of the verticals within an Electro-Mechanical Product Design Engineering Group focusing solely on research, problem solving, optimization problems and validation of technologies, tools and processes that pace product development. Our team thrives on Principle-Based Management, emphasizing integrity, continuous learning, and entrepreneurship to foster long-term value creation. What You Will Do Create Value Through Innovation: Conduct in-depth research into emerging technologies, materials, and methodologies with a focus on interconnect solutions. Stay ahead of global trends in AI and ML applications in hardware design, High-Voltage/Current interconnects, high-performance computing, and sustainable materials to identify opportunities for innovation. Develop actionable insights and frameworks to address complex technical challenges. Proactively identify opportunities for innovation and lead initiatives to address challenges. Drive Operational Excellence: Build robust validation frameworks to assess feasibility, performance, and scalability of new technologies. Ensure efficient integration of validated solutions into existing systems to maximize value creation. Drive pilot implementations, ensuring smooth transitions from concept to execution. Foster Collaboration and Vision Sharing: Contribute to the development of technology roadmaps that align with the organization’s strategic goals. Facilitate knowledge sharing to promote continuous learning and informed decision-making across teams. Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders in a clear and impactful manner. Demonstrate Ownership and Accountability: Take full ownership of assigned projects, driving them from research to successful implementation. Develop metrics to measure the impact of validated technologies on business outcomes. Cultivate a growth mindset, continuously seeking opportunities to enhance skills and contribute to organizational success. Who You Are (Basic Qualifications) Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. 2–5 years of experience in technology validation, research, or product development, with a preference for experience in electro-mechanical designs and interconnect solutions. Proficiency in CAD tools, GD&T, simulation software, DVP&R, FMEA, heat transfer calculations and data analysis tools. Proficiency in Material Selection – Engineering Plastics (PA, PBT, LCP etc.), Metals (Majorly, copper and its alloys; generally, other common metals and alloys). Knowledge of rapid prototyping techniques and manufacturing processes such as Plastic Injection Molding, Stamping (Press Tools), Coating in electronics. Through understanding of concepts such as Design for Manufacturability and Design for Assembly. Strong research, analytical skills, and the ability to independently drive projects to completion. Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively and communicate insights with clarity What Will Put You Ahead Experience in R&D or roles focused on innovation, specifically related to interconnect technologies. Knowledge of advanced materials, manufacturing processes, or automation, and familiarity with project management methodologies. Understanding Design for Reliability. An entrepreneurial spirit with a strong understanding of cross-disciplinary knowledge (blend of mechanical, electrical, and software engineering knowledge to navigate the convergence of technologies). A risk-tolerant experimenter, willing to test bold ideas with clear hypotheses and metrics for success, balanced with resource constraints.
