Job Description

Job Purpose:

To drive business growth by identifying, developing, and managing sales opportunities for Industrial IoT (IIoT), Digital Transformation, and Industry 4.0 solutions across manufacturing and process industries. The role involves technical solution selling, client relationship management, and coordination with technical and project teams to deliver tailored digital solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Business Development & Sales

  • Identify and generate new business opportunities in Industry 4.0, IIoT, Smart Factory, and Digital Transformation domains.
  • Manage the entire sales cycle — from prospecting and lead qualification to proposal, negotiation, and closure.
  • Achieve assigned sales targets for solutions, projects, and product portfolios.
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with key clients, OEMs, and system integrators.

2. Technical & Solution Support

  • Understand customer requirements, processes, and existing automation systems to propose suitable digital/IIoT solutions.
  • Conduct technical presentations, demonstrations, and proof-of-concept (PoC) sessions with customers.
  • Coordinate with internal technical, engineering, and project teams for customized solution design, estimation, and proposal preparation.
  • Support pre-sales activities including RFP/RFQ responses, documentation, and costing.

3. Market Development

  • Identify potential industry segments such as Automotive, FMCG, Pharma, Machine Builders, Energy, or Process Industries.
  • Track emerging technologies and competitors in the Industrial IoT / Industry 4.0 space.
  • Represent the company at industry events, exhibitions, and client meetings.

4. Project Coordination

  • Liaise between customer and internal teams to ensure smooth project execution and customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure timely delivery, documentation, and project handover as per contract terms.

5. Reporting & Administration

  • Maintain updated records in CRM tools (Zoho CRM / Salesforce / etc.).
  • Prepare and present sales forecasts, reports, and project status updates to management.

Required Skills & Competencies:

Technical Competence

  • Strong understanding of Industrial Automation, PLCs, SCADA, MES, Cloud / Edge Computing, Sensors, and Communication Protocols (Modbus, OPC-UA, MQTT, etc.).
  • Knowledge of IIoT platforms (Azure IoT, AWS IoT, Siemens MindSphere, PTC ThingWorx, etc.) preferred.
  • Exposure to Digital Twin, Predictive Maintenance, Energy Monitoring, or Data Analytics solutions is an added advantage.

Sales & Business Acumen

  • Proven track record in B2B technical sales or solution selling.
  • Strong customer relationship management and negotiation skills.
  • Experience in handling large industrial accounts or project-based sales.

Soft Skills

  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
  • Self-motivated with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong coordination and multitasking capabilities.
