Job Description: Data Engineer with Snowflake, Databricks, Power BI and Azure Experience
We are in search of a skilled Data Engineer with expertise in either Snowflake, Databricks or Power BI to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in building and maintaining Databricks ETL pipelines extracting, integrating and transforming data from Snowflake making it accessible through Power BI. Additionally, the candidate should possess the ability to integrate data products with new sources as well as enhance reporting capabilities with Power BI dashboard and advanced analytics. Knowledge of Databricks, Snowflake or PowerBI will also be crucial for this role.
Roles and Responsibilities :
- Build and maintain Databricks ETL pipelines extracting, integrating and transforming data from disparate sources.
- Utilize Power BI and Azure technologies to extract data from Snowflake and transform it into valuable insights for the team.
- Develop and maintain visually appealing and interactive dashboards to effectively track and analyze the data.
- Work closely with the Business team to understand their reporting and analytical requirements and translate them into ETL, data model and database designs.
- Design, building and maintain Snowflake database structures ensuring data quality and security of highly sensitive data.
- Continuously improve and update existing Power BI dashboards to ensure the accuracy and relevancy of information.
- Implement and manage data security frameworks, including access controls, roles and ensuring compliance with data protection regulations.
- Optimize and troubleshoot SQL queries to ensure data is stored securely and accessed efficiently meeting both performance and business requirements.
- Design, develop, and deploy robust and scalable data pipelines using Databricks, incorporating data extraction from diverse sources (databases, APIs, streaming platforms), transformation and cleansing, and loading into target systems (data lakes, data warehouses, etc.).
- Optimize and troubleshoot ETL pipeline performance for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Utilize the full capabilities of the Databricks platform, including Databricks SQL, Delta Lake, Databricks Runtime, and Databricks Workflows, to orchestrate complex data workflows and ensure data quality and pipeline reliability.
- Contribute to the design and implementation of robust data models and architectures for data lakes and data warehouses, ensuring data consistency, integrity, and accessibility for various use cases.
- Implement rigorous data quality checks and validation procedures throughout the data pipelines to maintain high accuracy and reliability. Adhere to data governance policies and best practices.
- Collaborate with the team to design and implement data models and relationships to support reporting, advanced analytics.
- Optimize the performance of Power BI dashboards, ensuring they can handle large datasets and scale as required.
- Monitor and troubleshoot any issues with Power BI dashboards and data sources, ensuring data accuracy and reliability.
- Stay up to date with the latest advancements in Power BI, Azure, and Snowflake to bring in new ideas and implement innovative solutions.
Required Skillset:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Strong expertise and experience in Power BI, including dashboard creation, reporting, and visualization.
- Experience in integrating data products with new sources and enhancing reporting capabilities using Power BI.
- Knowledge of Azure technologies and services, such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, or Azure Synapse Analytics.
- Proficiency in languages like Python and SQL, experience with data warehousing and ETL processes, and knowledge of cloud platforms like Azure or AWS, along with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience with designing and implementing ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) or ELT (Extract, Load, Transform) pipelines.
- Understanding different data modeling/data warehousing techniques and how they impact data storage and retrieval is essential.
- Ability to identify and solve problems related to data pipelines, dashboards, data quality, and data security.
- Knowledge of data security principles, including role-based access control, encryption, and data governance practices, is crucial for securing data within Snowflake.
- Knowledge of data governance principles, including data quality, security, and compliance.
- Deep understanding of the Databricks platform, including its features and capabilities.
- Ability to configure and manage complex job workflows and pipelines using Databricks jobs.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams, including business stakeholders.
- Proactive attitude and commitment to continuous learning and the adoption of new technologies in Power BI, Azure, Databricks and Snowflake.
