Job Description

Job Title: Systems Engineer L3

Duration: 12 months with high possible extension

Working time zone: Night Shifts (EST, CST, PST)

Location: 100% remote (India)

Working hours 40 hours per week (8 hours per day)


Introduction:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Systems Engineer L3 to join our Platform Engineering Observability team. In this pivotal role, you will be at the forefront of designing, implementing, and maintaining our AWS cloud infrastructure, as well as managing self-hosted and on-premises assets. As a Systems Engineer, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure our systems are scalable, secure, and reliable. Your expertise will directly impact the efficiency and productivity of our organization, making you an invaluable asset to our team.


Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Design, deploy, and manage AWS cloud infrastructure, including EC2 instances, S3 buckets, VPCs, RDS databases, and Lambda functions.
  • Assist in the design, implementation, and maintenance of backup, high-availability, and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Develop and monitor automation scripts and tools for provisioning, configuration, and maintenance of cloud and on-premises resources.
  • Monitor system performance, analyze trends, and implement improvements to ensure optimal resource utilization and cost efficiency.
  • Implement security best practices and compliance standards to safeguard cloud environments.
  • Administer company SaaS platforms to enhance user productivity, focusing on tools like Okta and AWS Workspaces.
  • Collaborate with DevOps and development teams to streamline CI/CD pipelines and support application deployments.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior cloud engineers and other team members.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest AWS services, features, and best practices, and evaluate their applicability to our infrastructure.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in designing, implementing, and managing AWS cloud solutions.
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional certification is highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of cloud computing concepts and architectures, including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues in cloud environments.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.


Tools and Technologies:

  • Proficiency in AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, Lambda, CloudFormation, and CloudWatch.
  • Experience with infrastructure automation tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
  • Proven hands-on experience supporting the Okta SSO Platform.
  • Solid understanding of networking concepts and technologies, including TCP/IP, VPN, DNS, and routing.
  • Familiarity with monitoring platforms such as Data Dog, Orion, Nagios, and WhatsUp Gold.
  • Hands-on experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and orchestration tools (e.g., ECS, EKS) is a plus.
