Role reports to: Senior Manager Cloud & Infra Location: Bangalore What you will do As a Staff Engineer – Linux & Unix Platforms , you will play a critical role in shaping the architecture and evolution of Linux and Unix-based systems at Kenvue. The ideal candidate will bring extensive hands-on experience across Linux distributions, AS400 systems, Cloud platforms, and Kubernetes orchestration. This role requires deep technical expertise, strategic thinking, and a collaborative spirit to lead infrastructure modernization and support digital transformation. Responsibilities Lead architecture and design of enterprise-grade Linux and Unix infrastructure solutions. Provide technical leadership and hands-on implementation guidance for Linux (RHEL, Ubuntu, SUSE, etc.) and Unix (AIX, Solaris, HP-UX) platforms. Design and optimize environments that integrate AS400 systems with modern IT infrastructure. Drive implementation and management of containerized applications using Kubernetes (K8s), including multi-cluster and hybrid cloud scenarios. Champion infrastructure automation using tools like Ansible, Terraform, and Shell scripting. Define and implement cloud-native strategies leveraging AWS, Azure, or GCP for Linux workloads. Ensure system scalability, security, and resilience aligned with enterprise architecture standards. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including application, database, and security teams for infrastructure enablement. Review and improve system performance, perform root cause analysis for incidents and proactively suggest improvements. Create architecture documentation, standards, and reusable assets to drive consistency. Mentor junior engineers and guide best practices across internal and partner teams. Manage vendor and partner engagements to ensure delivery excellence. Keep pace with emerging technologies and suggest innovative solutions aligned to Kenvue’s business needs. Qualifications Qualifications 10+ years of professional experience in Linux and Unix system engineering roles. Experience with Kubernetes administration and container orchestration. Strong hands-on knowledge and architecture experience with AS400 (IBM iSeries) environments. Deep experience with Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) in a system engineering or DevOps context. Proficient in scripting and automation using Shell, Python, Ansible, etc. Proven expertise in system hardening, performance tuning, patching, and monitoring. Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, storage technologies, and high availability systems. Experience leading infrastructure transformation and modernization projects. Familiarity with ITIL/ITSM practices is a plus. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work across diverse teams and lead technical discussions with stakeholders. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. Relevant certifications (RHCE, LFCS, CKA, AWS/Azure certifications) are a strong plus.
