Sr. MDM Engineer

.As a Sr. MDM Engineer, you will lead the strategy, deployment, and continuous improvement of mobile device management (MDM) and mobile application management (MAM) solutions across a global enterprise. You will be the primary expert in managing mobile endpoints, ensuring security, compliance, and productivity across iOS, Android, and other platforms. This role involves close collaboration with IT, security, compliance, and support teams to streamline device management, automate processes, and enhance the end-user experience. You will also monitor emerging mobile technologies, maintain documentation, and support integration with identity and security platforms. This is a high-impact, remote-friendly role offering an opportunity to shape the mobile device strategy for a fast-paced, security-focused organization.
Accountabilities
- Lead the implementation, configuration, and lifecycle management of enterprise MDM and MAM platforms, including policy enforcement and compliance monitoring
- Secure mobile endpoints by designing and maintaining policies for encryption, passcode enforcement, remote wipe, app whitelisting/blacklisting, and conditional access
- Package, deploy, and manage internal and third-party applications on mobile platforms, ensuring security, updates, and reliability
- Provide expert-level support and troubleshooting for mobile devices and applications, ensuring seamless onboarding and user experience
- Integrate MDM solutions with IAM, endpoint security, and mobile threat defense platforms
- Monitor device compliance, generate dashboards/reports, and collaborate with audit and security teams
- Evaluate emerging MDM technologies and update processes to continuously improve mobile operations
- Document workflows, automate repetitive tasks, and maintain policies and standard operating procedures
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience managing enterprise mobile devices and applications, with strong expertise in VMware Workspace ONE UEM (certifications a plus)
- Deep knowledge of iOS and Android enterprise mobility features, enrollment modes, supervision, managed apps, and device compliance
- Experience with Apple Business Manager, Google Enterprise, and their integration into MDM platforms
- Strong understanding of MDM and MAM policies, including security hardening, user profiles, certificate-based authentication, VPN, Wi-Fi, and conditional access
- Hands-on experience with mobile application deployment, troubleshooting, and version control
- Scripting skills for automation (PowerShell, Python, or Workspace ONE APIs)
- Excellent communication, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Passion for balancing security, compliance, and end-user productivity
Bonus Skills:
- Experience integrating MDM with Okta, Azure AD, or mobile threat defense platforms
- Knowledge of Zero Trust principles and their application in mobile device management
- Experience supporting large-scale enterprise environments (10K+ mobile devices)
- Exposure to Windows 11 or macOS device management via MDM platforms
- Relevant certifications: Workspace ONE UEM Specialist/Admin, CompTIA Mobility+, or equivalent
