What You'll Do
We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Sr. Instructional Designer who creates impactful learning experiences by applying outcome-based development principles and the backwards design framework. You will emphasize starting with the end in mind—defining learning goals and aligning content, assessments, and activities to measurable outcomes. The designer collaborates with team members to ensure training programs address organizational goals and learner needs. - Create instructional materials, eLearning courses, workshops, and blended learning solutions using the backwards design framework.
- Develop clear, measurable learning outcomes that align with organizational goals and needs.
- Design content and assessments that support desired outcomes and ensure mastery of important skills.
- Partner with subject matter experts (SMEs), facilitators, and partners to identify performance gaps.
- Conduct learner analysis to inform the design process, considering diverse learner needs and preferences.
- Align learning experiences with industry standards, compliance requirements, and best practices.
- Use formative and summative assessments to measure program effectiveness and learner outcomes.
- Gather feedback and data to refine instructional materials and enhance learning experiences.
- Apply frameworks such as Kirkpatrick's Levels of Evaluation to assess training impact.
- Ensure delivery of high-quality learning materials. Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and documentation for instructional design programs.
- Use authoring tools (e.g., Articulate 360, Captivate) and learning platforms (e.g., LMS, LXP) to create and deploy training content.
- Integrate multimedia, interactive elements, and simulations to engage learners and promote outcomes
What Your Responsibilities Will Be
What You'll Need to be Successful
- Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Education, Learning & Development, or a related field. OR Master's degree or certification in instructional design, adult education, or a related discipline.
- 6+ years of experience developing learning solutions in corporate, academic, or nonprofit settings.
- Demonstrated experience with backwards design, outcome-based development, or similar frameworks.
- Proficiency with eLearning authoring tools, multimedia design, and learning technologies.
- Develop clear, relevant, and measurable learning goals.
- Focus on understanding between goals, assessments, and content.
- Creative in designing learner-centered solutions.
- Work collaboratively in teams and manage partner relationships.
- Familiarity with learning taxonomies such as Bloom's or Webb's Depth of Knowledge.
- Experience learning technologies and microlearning strategies.
- Experience with backwards design, design thinking or Action Mapping.
- Knowledge of compliance training, sales enablement, or leadership development programs.
