Software Engineering Advisor (Java)

Position Overview

Full Stack engineer supporting Cigna's Fee for Value applications Under Provider Organization

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of Code
• Implement Strategy solutions related to Cigna’s Enterprise Operations.
• Collaborate with analysts and Product owners to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Design and implement data quality checks and monitoring mechanisms to ensure the integrity and accuracy of our data.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve production issues promptly.
• Stay up to-date with emerging technologies and best practices and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
• Identifies opportunities and implements improvements to team platforms, processes, and tools to enhance team effectiveness.
• Engage in technical troubleshooting and problem resolution.

Qualifications

Required Skills:

• Experience with rule engines like Red Hat JBoss, BRMS rules engine.
• Experience in front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript/Typescript frameworks.
• Knowledge in messaging tools like: MQ, Kafka etc.
• Experience with TDD/BDD frameworks.
• Knowledge in SQL and PL/SQL is desired.
• Participating in software/hardware configuration, releases and installation tasks
• Participate in technical planning and requirements gathering phases including Design, code, test, troubleshoot and document engineering software applications.
• Demonstrating the ability to adapt and work with team members of various experience level.
• Knowledge in AWS services… IAM, EC2, S3, ECS, EKS, Cloud Watch, StepFunctions, Lambdas, MWAA, SQS, SNS, Glue, Athena etc.
• Hands-on experience in Python, and Shell scripting.
• Experience with any relational database management systems.

Required Experience:

• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer Science or a related field
• 11 - 13 years of experience in developer or operations roles.
• 10+ years of hands-on development experience with Java/J2EE, Spring frameworks, Rest web services, Hibernate/JPA.
• Must be "very" strong in Java. We want Java engineers who are passionate about Java and take the time to understand why they do things a certain way.
• Other skills include RESTful Web Services, SpringBoot, Kafka, MongoDB, and automation skills (such as Jenkins and Cucumber).
• Mentorship skills are required.
• Experience with application capacity and performance tools
• Strong written and oral communication skills. Create and produce application support documentation
• Experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) tools like GitHub, Jenkins, etc.
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Dynatrace or Splunk etc.
• Good communication and collaboration skills.
• Experience in Agile methodologies.

Desired Experience:

• AWS certification is preferred.
