This position will focus on performance analysis and improvement for new products and features as well as enhancements to existing products and features. This position requires an individual to be broad-thinking and systems-focused, creative, team-oriented, technologically savvy, and driven to produce results.Job RequirementsExtensive knowledge of computer operating systems, computer architecture, data structures, networking, software design/implementation; systems programming in C/C++In-depth knowledge of performance analysis and modeling -- tools, techniques, and benchmarksStrong scripting skills - Perl, Python (primarily within JupyterHub), ShellKnowledge of storage systems and file systems highly desirableAbility to create and enhance automation frameworks (generally python-based) to improve productivity in those environmentsExceptional presentation and interpersonal skillsStrong influencing and leadership skillsThe ability to make accurate work estimates and develop predictable plansA creative and analytical approach to problem solvingDemonstrated willingness to take on additional tasks and responsibilities that positively contribute to realization of team, department, and company goalsAbility and willingness to adapt to rapidly changing work environmentEssential Functions:Provide performance analysis and characterization of storage systems, features, and components under development.Apply analytical abilities, computer architecture knowledge, and software/systems design knowledge to analyze performance of proposed designsFind and resolve performance issues and performance regressions in the productTune existing designs for benchmark results and collect measurement information for future systems developmentResolve potentially complex performance issues in the customer environment, if escalated from the support organizationAdditional Skills Required:Excellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to lead, influence, and work collaboratively with senior and junior engineersAbility to estimate task effort and duration and build high-confidence plansCreative, analytical problem-solving of complex problemsEducation

• 2 or more years of related experience.
• A Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science Engineering, a Master’s Degree, or a PhD.
