Job Description Responsible for providing observability solutions to SaaS customers’ problems Provide 24x7 on-site support for SaaS Observability services and users. Quickly detect and notify any service health issues to Service Center, Service Ops and Infra teams Collaborate with OCI teams when underlying OCI services impact Observability performance. Collect comprehensive set of metrics against each service layer and make it available to appropriate teams Monitor and measure end user experience Deploy and monitor critical transactions against each cloud service Aggregate and correlate related service alerts into actionable events Responsibilities Work with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team on the shared full stack ownership of a collection of services and/or technology areas. Understand the end-to-end configuration, technical dependencies, and overall behavioral characteristics of production services. Responsible for the design and delivery of the mission critical stack, with focus on security, resiliency, scale, and performance. Authority for end-to-end performance and operability. Partner with development teams in defining and implementing improvements in service architecture. Articulate technical characteristics of services and technology areas and guide Development Teams to engineer and add premier capabilities to the Oracle Cloud service portfolio. Understand and communicate the scale, capacity, security, performance attributes, and requirements of the service and technology stack. Demonstrate clear understanding of automation and orchestration principles. Act as ultimate escalation point for complex or critical issues that have not yet been documented as Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Utilize a deep understanding of service topology and their dependencies required to troubleshoot issues and define mitigations. Understand and explain the affect of product architecture decisions on distributed systems. Professional curiosity and a desire to a develop deep understanding of services and technologies. What You Need to Have: 3+ years of experience A BE/BTech or ME/MTech in Computer Science or equivalent education background. The successful Site Reliability Engineer should be highly motivated, dig deep into solving problems and be able to work independently. They should also be able to collaborate successfully with partner teams and stakeholders. Good analytical and problem-solving skills with strong customer service orientation. Ability to work effectively in a multi-location team Excellent communication skills, strong interpersonal skills Able to work as part of a 24x7 support team. Software skills: Experience in Java, Python, Shell or equivalent Well versed with Linux Basics and Oracle database Knowledge of Cloud technologies like Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes are plus Experience with any of the monitoring alerting technologies like EM, Prometheus, Grafana, Kafka, T2 Telemetry is plus Ability and willingness to learn quickly in a dynamic environment. Ability to participate in technical discussions and communicate clearly.
