Job Summary: The Shift In-charge is responsible for managing the daily operations of the café during their assigned shift. This includes overseeing staff duties, ensuring food preparation meets quality standards, managing inventory, maintaining hygiene, and ensuring excellent customer service. They play a key role in motivating the team and driving the shift’s performance. Key Responsibilities: Report to duty on time and ensure proper uniform and appearance for all staff. Monitor attendance and arrange staff schedules to fill gaps. Lead the daily prayer and oath-taking session for the team. Conduct daily briefing and debriefing sessions as needed. Allocate tasks and responsibilities to all staff members for the shift. Check the menu and guide the team to prepare items based on the previous day’s sales data, ensuring controlled portioning and timely preparations. Monitor crowd flow and weather conditions, and adjust food preparation plans accordingly. Check stock levels of bulk items and consumables, and communicate requirements to the Food Station In-charge. Ensure the cleanliness and hygiene of all areas, including food preparation and café zones. Report any issues to relevant departments. Approve staff leaves and forward them for final approval by the Café Manager. Handover shift details to the next shift, including any notable points, through the logbook. Provide feedback to the Food Station In-charge or Café Manager to improve operations. Motivate the team to meet performance targets and ensure they are eligible for incentives and appraisals. Check cleanliness and hygiene standards in all areas and take corrective actions as needed. Conduct sensory evaluations of food quality, ensuring that high standards are maintained and documented. Maintain all required reports in accordance with the company SOPs. Interact with customers to promote products and build positive relationships. Assist the Café Manager with any operational tasks as needed. Train and motivate the staff to maximize sales, improve operational efficiency, and ensure excellent customer service. Resolve any staff conflicts or issues, ensuring there is no disruption to customer service. Prepare the duty roster in consultation with the Café Manager. Qualifications and Skills: Proven experience in a similar role in food and beverage operations. Strong leadership, communication, and team management skills.
