Position Summary:
To supervise and co-ordinate the processing and packing operation, ensuring the product is packed within the product specifications within the shift. To manage production costs by optimize productivity / yield, while utilizing the staff / equipment in a safe, effective and hygienic manner.Instructions for Responsibilities and Accountabilities: List the major responsibilities and accountabilities of the position in order of importance with most important being first etc. Each item should describe what the person in this position have to accomplish at McCain. MANAGE THE KPI’s (OF SUBORDINATES)oPerformance of subordinates is achieved against their agreed KPI’s.oPerformance appraisal are carried out once in year and quaertly review/feedback.oFull implementation of training / development plan for all subordinates.oMake sure all operators are well skilled as per their job description.oCommunicates with shop floor staff at all times reference performance out-put, recognizing staffs achievements. Keeps staff up to date with any changes to company procedures or policy.oIdentify own goals and individual KPI’s and develop team and their individual capability. Measure performance using organizational tools (PEP) through Success factoroDemonstrate open, positive and constructive communication and enact McCain Foods Code of Conduct behaviors by providing support to all production department personnel in activities. This is to improve teamwork, motivation, leadership, and job specific knowledge on a routine basis as well as monthly and an annual review. Measured through quick response and implementation of corrective actions and all Production people reaching required agreed targets.oDo monthly recognition program in monthly review meeting to batter engagement and motivation of production people.oImprove our voice survey results score year on year.ENSURE EXECUTION OF THE PROCESS / PACKING PLANoMeeting daily plan as per S&OP.oEnsure all areas are properly manned to meet operational requirements.oAll equipment is in good running order and set up to comply with the final product specifications with the help of CID, CL, TSU tools.oOversee that efficiency standards are maintained and subsequent planned production volumes are packed.oOrganize casual labour and maintain the effectiveness of personal in order to achieve the optimum labour utilization to complete packing schedule.oCommunicate packing out-put, downtime or quality issues to the control room on an hourly basisoMaintain all BOP’s related to process and packing.MAINTENANCE & GENERAL DUTIESoCoach team to comply all MDI tools like Handoff , Huddle , CID, CL , TSU , DDS , Power BI (OEE) and DH to ensure efficiency improvement.oAssists with maintenance team during breakdowns.oTo perform any other reasonable work related tasks as instructed by line Manager.MANAGE PRODUCT COSTSoManage production reports on a daily basis ensuring yield, labour and consumables are withinbudget and match the cost sheet.oControl the process / packing parameters in order to ensure the yield ratio between packingsmaterials issued and finished products are packed within budget.oRecord all waste generated within the process / packing area and investigate whenever excessive waste is found.oEnsure all operation work procedures adhered to for optimal packing efficiencies / yield.oEducate and train employees to ensure they are fully aware of all standards required within the process / packing area.MANAGE PRODUCT QUALITY, NPD & HYGIENEoCommunicate with the QC concerning corrective action reports, related to quality problems that occur within the process / packing area.oConduct daily/Shift Sensory.oEnsure operators are able to identify Food Safety and Quality risk through CID.oAll non-conformance product is identified / recorded and reason for non-conformance been recorded.oCustomer complaints and restricted products are within the specified targets and ensure investigation along with CAPA implementation.oEnsure proper execution of NPD (New Product Development), launched and all process conditions are noted and recorded.oThe production staff must turn out daily in clean uniforms and are presented tidy.oAll waste is disposed of in the correct containers and is removed / emptied into the appropriate waste areasoMaintain GMP.ENSURE COMPLIANCE TO ALL STATUARY REQUIREMENTS AND MCCAIN POLICIES AND SYSTEMSoFull legal compliance to all relevant legislation.oFull compliance with McCain policies and systems (e.g. risk control)oFull compliance with food safety standards.oOperational Safety:-i.No loose wires or electrical panels are open to the environment (Only engineers have access to electrical panels).ii.All floors are kept dry to minimize slips.iii.All staff in the packing area is wearing Personnel Protective Equipment (PPE).iv.Train an update all staff in relation to all safety issues within the production area.v.Anticipates and identifies safety related problems, takes corrective action to resolve the safety issue.vi.Carries out monthly safety inspection of the production area.vii.Every near miss and first add must be reported.Instructions for Requirements: Record the ideal qualifications for someone to take on this job (note: current incumbents may have different backgrounds). Academic:Must have: B. Tec in Electrical/Chemical/Mechanical Engineer, should possess min. 5 years’ experience
