Shift Engineer

Responsibilities

• Furnace Operation:
• Oversee and manage the operation of melting furnaces.
• Monitor temperature, pressure, and other parameters to ensure the proper melting of materials.
• Adjust furnace settings as needed to achieve desired melting results.
• Raw Material Handling:
• Coordinate the handling and preparation of raw materials for the melting process.
• Ensure the correct quantity and quality of raw materials are fed into the furnace.
• Collaborate with the logistics team to manage raw material inventory.
• Process Optimization:
• Continuously evaluate and optimize melting processes for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
• Implement improvements to enhance the quality of melted materials.
• Troubleshoot and address issues related to the melting process.
• Quality Control:
• Implement quality control measures to ensure the melted materials meet specified standards.
• Collaborate with the quality control team to analyze samples and address any deviations.
• Document and report any quality issues or concerns.
• Equipment Maintenance:
• Schedule and perform regular maintenance on melting furnaces and associated equipment.
• Coordinate with the maintenance team to address any unexpected breakdowns.
• Keep detailed records of maintenance activities.
• Safety Protocols:
• Enforce and adhere to safety protocols in the Melting Department.
• Conduct safety inspections and address any potential hazards promptly.
• Provide training to staff on safety procedures.
• Energy Management:
• Monitor energy consumption during the melting process.
• Implement measures to optimize energy efficiency.
• Explore and recommend energy-saving technologies.
• Team Leadership:
• Lead and supervise a team of operators in the Melting Department.
• Provide guidance and support to ensure smooth operations.
• Conduct regular training sessions for team members.
• Data Analysis and Reporting:
• Analyze data related to melting processes and performance.
• Generate reports on production metrics, including melt rates, energy consumption, and quality indicators.
• Use data to identify areas for improvement.
• Environmental Compliance:
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations related to the melting process.
• Implement measures to minimize environmental impact.
• Stay informed about environmental standards and best practices.
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field.
• Proven experience in a melting or furnace operation role.
• Strong understanding of metallurgy or material science.
• Knowledge of safety regulations in industrial settings.
• Leadership and team management skills.
