ServiceNow SAM Specialist

Overview

We are seeking a skilled ServiceNow Software Asset Management (SAM) professional to design, implement, and manage SAM processes and solutions on the ServiceNow platform. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring software compliance, optimizing license usage, and supporting governance to reduce risk and cost.

Responsibilities

• Implement and configure ServiceNow SAM modules to manage software assets across the organization.
• Maintain an accurate and up-to-date software asset inventory.
• Monitor license compliance, entitlements, and software usage to ensure alignment with vendor contracts.
• Collaborate with procurement, IT operations, and business stakeholders to optimize software spend.
• Develop workflows, dashboards, and reports in ServiceNow to track software usage and compliance.
• Support audits and compliance reporting for various software vendors.
• Identify opportunities to reduce software costs through reclamation, consolidation, and vendor negotiations.
• Provide technical guidance and best practices for ServiceNow SAM.
  

Skills & Qualifications

• Strong experience with

  ServiceNow Software Asset Management (SAM Pro)

  .
• Hands-on knowledge of software discovery, normalization, reconciliation, and entitlement processes.
• Understanding of software licensing models (SaaS, perpetual, subscription, concurrent, etc.).
• Experience integrating ServiceNow SAM with discovery sources (e.g., SCCM, JAMF, Intune).
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills to engage stakeholders and explain compliance/optimization outcomes.
• ITIL foundation knowledge is preferred.
• ServiceNow CSA (Certified System Administrator) or CIS-SAM certification is a plus.
  

Nice to Have

• Experience with

  Hardware Asset Management (HAM)

  or IT Asset Management (ITAM).
• Exposure to software audits and vendor negotiations (Microsoft, Adobe, Oracle, IBM, etc.).
• Knowledge of broader ServiceNow modules (ITSM, CMDB, HAM, Procurement).
