The Group:

The Financial Planning group builds solutions and capabilities that enable financial advisors to deliver compliant and comprehensive financial advice so that their retail clients and investors meet their goals. The solutions leverage Morningstar’s extensive data and research capabilities across all stages of financial advice making the advice process compliant, efficient and effective.

The Role:

The Morningstar AdviserLogic - Apart from our existing product line, we are now poised to extend our vision further to reach out to every individual in Australia who needs to plan and manage their financial goals and access financial advice seamlessly with the help of cutting edge technology. In this space, we are looking to build a new product line that is scalable to handle retail users' load by utilizing technologies like cloud services, NodeJS, ,.NET framework,.NET core, Python and open-source relational/non-relational databases.

Responsibilities:

Own the development and technical specifications (including architecture) of the product
Refactor subsystems/components of the product along with maintaining the current live version
Responsible for analysis of current application/product - performance, diagnosis and troubleshooting of problem and designing solutions to problematic code.
Provide solutions to improvise performance and scalability of systems.
Ensure scalability and testability of the product and its subsystems
Attending all relevant scrum events and ceremonies
Help product manager in detailing the user stories/tasks in Jira
Mentor team members

Requirements:

Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
Minimum 6 years of professional experience in software development.
Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and management to collect requirements, describe software product features, and technical designs.
Minimum 2 year of experience in cloud native application development using AWS or Azure or google cloud.
Minimum 3 years of experience in modern front-end JavaScript framework (Vue or Angular).
Working Experience in .NET framework with C#.
Expertise in - Creating APIs using JavaScript on NodeJS or in C# on .NET core.
Expertise in working with relational and non-relational databases.
Experienced with RDBMS (MySQL/PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB), including CRUD operations, indexing, aggregation pipelines, and data normalization/denormalization.
Working experience in Test driven development (TDD).
Working experience in SOLID principles.
Experience and understanding of Agile Development methodologies, especially Scrum.
Fast learner, open to learning new technologies when needed.
Sound understanding of how modern web apps are architecture with JavaScript driving the application flow and APIs as the backend.
Experience building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers.
Self-directed and detail oriented.
