Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET)

Play a crucial role in leading the quality and reliability of our software products through the design, development, and execution of automated test solutions. This role requires a blend of software development skills and testing expertise to create robust test automation frameworks and comprehensive test suites. This role will excel in our evolving technology stack, which currently includes Cypress, Cucumber, JavaScript, GraphQL, Jest, Kafka, MERN (MongoDB, Express, React, Node.js), NestJS, Redis, SQL, and TypeScript.

Full-time | Remote, US Company | English required | Hybrid - 3 days in office required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Lead QA team members in implementing industry best practices for software quality improvement and testing.
• Design and develop automated tests for web applications and APIs using Cypress and Cucumber BDD.
• Collaborate with software engineers and QA team members to identify, prioritize, and resolve defects.
• Create and maintain automated test frameworks to support continuous integration and delivery.
• Execute automated tests, analyze results, and provide actionable feedback to ensure the quality and reliability of software products.
• Work closely with product owners and the development team to understand requirements, acceptance criteria, and potential risks.
• Maintain comprehensive knowledge of application functions, business processes, and testing protocols.
• Interpret system diagrams and strategize test coverage to ensure appropriate testing of applications.
• Coordinate with the development team to assess risks, design effective tests, and plan testing activities as projects progress towards production deployment.
• Document test processes and results thoroughly, ensuring completed projects can be deployed without adverse effects to the business.
• Oversee the overall quality assurance process, ensuring adherence to standards and timely delivery of high-quality software products.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or similar relevant field; 5 years of relevant experience as a Software Engineer, or Software Development Engineer in Test is desirable.
• Must be able to speak, write and understand English.
• Functional knowledge of JavaScript and TypeScript.
• Experience with Cypress and Cucumber is highly preferred.
• Knowledge of software testing methodologies and best practices.
• Knowledge of database concepts for a SQL or NoSQL database.
• Familiarity with Agile development practices.
• Any certifications related to automated testing tools or Agile methodologies are a plus.
