Role Overview

IPE Global invites applications from eligible candidates for the position of Senior Research Analyst. S/he should have a strong understanding of implementation science, research methodology, monitoring and evaluation frameworks, MWCD policies, and a demonstrated ability to generate evidence informed actionable insights for government programmes. The role involves policy research, development of high-quality knowledge products, and evidence translation to support programmatic improvements across ICDS and POSHAN 2.0.


Roles and Responsibilities


Key Responsibilities

1. Policy Research & Evidence Translation

  • Conduct policy research on PMMVY, ICDS, and POSHAN 2.0 including programme reviews, assessment of national/state guidelines, policy briefs, technical notes, and implementation frameworks to generate evidence-based recommendations.
  • Ensure all outputs align with PMMVY and POSHAN 2.0 guidelines, Anganwadi processes, and programmatic priorities.

2. Development of Knowledge & Training Products

  • Design and develop training modules, job aids, IEC material, and digital content for AWWs, supervisors, CDPOs, and other ICDS stakeholders.
  • Translate scientific literature, evaluation findings, and nutrition research into practical insights to guide policy action and programme strengthening.

3. Data Analysis of Health Systems

  • Analyse available health and nutrition systems data (e.g., PMMVY enrolments, coverage trends, Poshan Tracker trends, integration bottlenecks etc) to identify gaps, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
  • Coordinate when needed with state staff on data gathering, data quality control, and reporting.
  • Assist in the formative/ need based studies. This will include developing study protocols, tools, collecting/supervising data, ensuring training and data quality.
  • Undertake need-based field visits for validation and contextual understanding when required.

4. Stakeholder Engagement & Coordination

  • Liaise with MoWCD, MoHFW, state ICDS departments, development partners, and technical agencies.
  • Participate in technical meetings, consultations, and workshops to provide analytical and content-development support.

As job descriptions cannot be exhaustive, Sr Research Analyst may be required to undertake other duties as determined by the reporting manager that are broadly in line with the above key responsibilities.



Qualification & Experience


Essential

  • Advanced university degree in Nutrition, Demography, Development Studies or other relevant disciplines.
  • 2-4 years of experience in an analytical and documentation role preferably including large-scale quantitative data processing and management; and contributing to evaluation and research studies.
  • In-depth knowledge and proven expertise in technical writing skills, developing M&E systems, knowledge products using high quality data analytics. Operational experience in health/nutrition sector highly preferred;
  • Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Good understanding of maternal and child health and nutrition and rural development sectors and programmes.
  • Fluency in local language (Both reading and writing)

Desirable

  • Experience of working on programs related to maternal child health and nutrition.
  • Preference will be given to those having previous experience of working with demanding clients, private foundations and corporates; and
  • Experience in implementing projects with components of Social and Behaviour Change Communication.
