Role Description

Must have experience in manufacturing sector. Experience with dealing with vendors in plastic & metal industries. Must have strong knowledge of local Hyderabad manufacturing hubs like Balanagar, Jeedimetla etc to identify apt vendors

Main Job, duties & responsibilities

• Establish and implement purchasing policies, procedures and best practices
• Identify and source new suppliers and vendors
• Manage vendor and supplier selection process based on price, quality, support, capacity and reliability
• Develop and maintain strategic relationships with key suppliers and vendors & ensure timely delivery of all the parts
• Develop and maintain SOP for the entire function of Purchase Management, Vendor Development and Inventory and Stores Management
• Develop, negotiate and administer purchasing agreements and contracts with suppliers in support of organizational requirements
• Plan regular ordering schedules with different vendors based on the available inventory and expected sales volumes
• Carry out quality checks and regular testing of the parts to ensure quality requirements
• On-site travelling to the vendors location during the time of production to ensure quality and timely delivery of the parts
• Knowledge of different industrial works, regions and vendors to deliver every requirement from the production team.
• Monitor supplier and vendor compliance with contractual agreements
• Measure and manage the vendor and supplier cost, quality and delivery performance
• Troubleshoot cost, quality and delivery concerns
• Manage risk relating to quality, cost, delivery and supply of purchases
• Introduce performance improvement measures for suppliers and vendors
• Work with relevant departments to manage inventory requirements
• Monitor and reduce purchase variances to meet profit objectives
• Direct continuous improvement of purchasing processes in line with changing organizational needs and market conditions

• Comprehend and interpret engineering drawings, quality systems requirements and customer specifications.
• Team management skills and team player
• Hands on experience on ISO 9001, Lean Management, 5S, Kaizen, Poka-yoke
• Familiar to using ERP system for Purchase & supply chain management
• Familiar with export documentation and procedures
• Familiar with transportation management, packing systems
• Good communication and negotiation skills
• Thinking out of the BOX and “Will do Attitude”

Academic Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (Preferred)
• Post Graduate qualifications in Supply Chain Management, Procurement will be desired but not mandatory
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in Purchase, Vendor Development and Supply Chain Management in Automotive, Heavy Engineering, Project Engineering Industry
• Experience in working on ERP is required.
