The purpose of this role is to assist in the comprehensive management of domestic coal procurement, logistics, and quality control. The role focuses on invoice validation, quality assessment, performance mapping, and risk analysis to maintain cost-effectiveness and operational efficiency across coal supply operations.Responsibilities
Lead Domestic Coal Controller
Support In Procurement And Logistics
Collaborate with the Section Head to ensure efficient coal transportation and alignment with cost and quality objectives.Review logistics plans, pre-audit operational risk factors, and identify optimization opportunities for coal transit and sourcing.Invoice And Cost Validation
Assist in reviewing coal and transport invoices for accuracy, verifying billing patterns, and preparing them for finance processing.Reconcile credit and debit notes, validating costing against quality and sample analysis reports to prevent discrepancies.Performance And Quality Mapping
Monitor coal quality and quantity from source to destination, mapping performance against pre-delivery expectations.Highlight performance deviations and risks related to transit conditions, presenting findings to management for corrective actions.MIS And Reporting Support
Contribute to monthly and weekly MIS reports, compiling data on coal procurement, quality metrics, and logistical performance.Engage in field monitoring activities, assessing site conditions to support continuous improvement efforts.Support In Working Capital And Fund Management
Assist with fund management tasks, coordinating with finance on payment reconciliations to improve working capital flow.Monitor payment terms and freight costs, providing recommendations to optimize payment efficiency and risk management.Quality Control And Calibration
Ensure calibration standards for quality assessment instruments are met, overseeing quality and quantity validation in coal sourcing.Work with quality control teams to maintain consistency in assessment standards across the supply chain.Key Stakeholders - Internal

Educational Qualification:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Finance, or a related field.Work Experience (Range Of Years)
5+ years of experience in coal procurement, logistics, or operational control within the energy sector along with strong analytical skills, with a demonstrated ability to manage complex invoices and assess quality metrics.Preferred Industry
Experience in the power generation industry, particularly with a focus on coal procurement and commercial management, is preferred.
