Job Summary We’re seeking a Network Lead Engineer with 7–9 years of hands-on experience in high-growth environments. This role is ideal for a proactive, solutions-driven engineer who thrives in startup culture—comfortable balancing speed, scale, and security. You’ll lead the design and implementation of scalable network systems across hybrid and cloud-native environments, working closely with DevOps, product, and engineering teams to ensure seamless connectivity and top-tier security from day one. What You’ll Do Network Architecture & Design Design and deploy scalable Layer 2/3 networks to support rapidly growing engineering and product needs. Implement high-availability and redundant network topologies to minimize downtime. Architect multi-site and cloud-connected environments (AWS/GCP/Azure). Infrastructure Deployment & Support Lead configuration and day-to-day management of routing (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP) and switching infrastructure. Provide Tier 3+ support and root cause analysis for critical network incidents. Automate routine configurations and monitoring tasks where possible (e.g., using Python, Ansible). Security & Firewall Operations Manage next-gen firewalls (e.g., Palo Alto, Fortinet) and cloud-based security solutions. Conduct security posture reviews, audits, and support pen testing initiatives. Collaborate with DevOps to enforce secure communication across services and environments. Load Balancing & Performance Configure and tune load balancers (e.g., F5, HAProxy, NGINX) to support real-time applications. Monitor traffic patterns and optimize performance to handle peak loads with minimal latency. Monitoring & Documentation Deploy and manage monitoring systems (e.g., Datadog, Prometheus, PRTG). Maintain updated network diagrams, asset inventories, and knowledge base documentation. Provide weekly or ad-hoc reporting for system health, trends, and performance. Leadership & Collaboration Mentor junior engineers and support hiring/network team growth as needed. Collaborate across Engineering, Product, and Security to align infrastructure with business goals. Lead planning and execution of network expansion, upgrades, and migrations. What You Bring 7–9 years of experience in enterprise or fast-scaling startup network environments. Deep understanding of core networking (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, STP, QoS, VPNs). Strong expertise in Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, or equivalent platforms. Hands-on experience with firewalls, load balancers, and cloud networking. Familiarity with automation tools and scripting (Ansible, Terraform, Python). Cloud networking experience a plus (VPC peering, transit gateways, hybrid cloud). Certifications such as CCNP, JNCIP, or equivalent are a strong plus.
