Senior Manager - Performance Marketing


Role Purpose:

The Senior Manager Performance Marketing will lead activities across performance marketing (paid media), social media marketing, SEO, and affiliate marketing. The role holder will be responsible for building and executing data-driven, high-impact marketing strategies that accelerate customer acquisition, engagement, and retention across both the Majid Al Futtaim Retail app and website ecosystems.


The Senior Manager Performance Marketing will additionally lead and mentor a team of 10+ digital marketing professionals across different disciplines and territories, fostering a high-performance culture while ensuring alignment with broader marketing and business objectives.


Role Details – Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:


Strategic Leadership

  • Own the end-to-end digital marketing strategy across all paid and organic channels.
  • Set channel-specific KPIs and overall acquisition targets; continuously monitor performance to optimize budget allocation and ROI.
  • Collaborate closely with Product, Data, Creative, and Country Marketing Managers to deliver cohesive and effective marketing campaigns.

Performance Marketing

  • Oversee paid media (search, display, paid social, programmatic) across all territories, ensuring campaigns are efficient, scalable, and ROI-positive.
  • Work with internal teams and agencies to manage campaign setup, A/B testing, optimization, and reporting.

Social Media Marketing

  • Guide organic and paid social media strategy to build brand presence, community engagement, and performance outcomes.
  • Partner with content and creative teams to ensure cohesive messaging and compelling storytelling across platforms.


SEO & Content Strategy

  • Lead SEO strategy in collaboration with content and product teams to grow organic traffic and improve search rankings.
  • Ensure technical SEO, on-page and off-page best practices are followed across all territories.


Affiliate & Partnership Marketing

  • Own affiliate marketing and partnership programs to expand acquisition through third-party channels.
  • Evaluate and onboard affiliate networks or partners as needed.


Team Leadership & Collaboration

  • Manage, mentor, and scale a high-performing cross-functional digital marketing team.
  • Drive a test-and-learn culture within the team, promoting innovation and data-driven decision-making.
  • Foster collaboration across departments and geographies to ensure strategic alignment.

Human Capital Responsibilities

  • Assist in implementation of the performance management process by setting objectives, monitoring performance, and provide constructive feedback and provide inputs to senior management.
  • Provide mentorship for the purpose of developing a continuous talent pipeline for key roles.
  • Provide inputs on training needs and coordinate with the HC department to ensure facilitation of training requirements.
  • Develop and implement on the job-training for the team.
  • Provide inputs for the development of annual manpower plan.
  • Ensure the implementation of MAFR’s corporate policies and relevant procedure.


Definition of Success

  • Measured by KPIs against the targets (placed orders, GMV, new customers, CAC)

Other Context (if applicable)

  • The role supports the performance marketing team, covering all territories for the Carrefour and Hypermax brands


Functional/Technical Competencies

  • Hands-on experience with platforms like Google Ads, Meta Ads, TikTok Ads, affiliate networks, and SEO tools (e.g., SEMrush, Ahrefs, GA4).
  • Data-driven mindset with excellent analytical skills and strong proficiency in tools like Google Analytics, Adjust, or similar.
  • Familiarity with MMPs (e.g., AppsFlyer, Adjust) and attribution modeling.
  • Digital marketing channels like DV360, TradeDesk, etc. (app and web)
  • Reporting and data visualization tools
  • Qualification, Experience & Skills:

    Minimum Qualifications/education

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing

    Minimum experience

    • 7–10+ years of experience in digital marketing, ideally in high-growth e-commerce, digital platforms, or consumer apps.
    • Track record of performance and business growth, i.e., results like orders, GMV, new customers, CAC, CPO etc.
    • Proven track record of scaling paid marketing and/or organic channels across multiple markets.
    • Strong experience managing multi-channel digital campaigns with 6-7 figure monthly budgets.

    Skills

    • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, cross-functional, and multi-market environment.
    • Experience managing and mentoring mid-sized marketing teams (ideally 5+ people).
    • Exceptional project management and communication skills.
    • Experience in strategic budget management
    • Strong communication, bridging the gap between technical and non-technical stakeholders
    • High attention to detail
