Leading Group in EV - BUS Manufacturing
Role Purpose-
To lead and manage the end-to-end production process of bus body structures, ensuring timely delivery, high-quality standards, cost efficiency, and compliance with safety and regulatory norms. This role is critical in driving operational excellence, team development, and continuous improvement across the production line.
Key Responsibilities- Production Planning & Execution of Bus structures.
Develop and implement daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules.
Ensure optimal utilization of manpower, machinery, and materials.
Monitor KPIs such as JPH (Jobs Per Hour), OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness), and downtime.
Quality Assurance, Ensure adherence to dimensional accuracy, fit & finish, and welding standards.
Collaborate with QA teams to resolve line-level quality issues.
Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions for defects. Process Improvement
Lead Kaizen, Six Sigma, and lean manufacturing initiatives.
Reduce non-value-added activities and improve line balancing.
Implement automation and ergonomic improvements.
Team Leadership, Manage and mentor production supervisors and line staff.
Conduct skill gap analysis and organize training programs.
Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous learning.
New Product Integration, Coordinate with R&D and technical services for new model launches.
Ensure station readiness and compliance with pre-launch checklists.
Support pilot builds and feedback loops for design improvements.
Inventory & Material Coordination, Liaise with supply chain and warehousing for timely material availability. Monitor inventory levels and reduce excess stock or shortages.
Qualifications & Experience -
Education B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical / Automobile EnggExperience15-20 years in automotive production Domain Expertise Bus/Coach Body Building, BIW, Assembly, EV Certifications (Optional) Lean, Six Sigma, TPM, ISO/TS
Strong understanding of bus body structure design and manufacturing
Leadership and team management, Problem-solving and decision-making
Cost control and budgeting, ERP/MRP systems proficiency
Safety and compliance awareness, Performance Metrics
Production Volume vs. Plan, First Pass Yield (FPY) , Line Efficiency
Safety Incident Rate, Quality Audit Scores, Cost per Unit
