Position Title

Senior Internal Auditor

Key Responsibilities

· Plan, conduct, and supervise financial, operational, and compliance audits across dealerships and service units.

· Evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk management, control, and governance processes, with focus on automotive industry transactions, inventory, and sales compliance.

· Review dealership adherence to Automotive Industry Standards , Central Motor Vehicle Rules, GST, labor, and data privacy regulations.

· Examine procurement, inventory management, goods-in-transit, and workshop operations for operational and regulatory compliance.

· Prepare and present clear, actionable audit reports and findings to senior management, with follow-up on remediation actions.

· Review IT systems controlling sales, inventory, vehicle registration, and service revenues for risks and effectiveness.

· Conduct risk assessments annually and on an ad hoc basis, reporting deficiencies and recommending process improvements.

· Mentor and supervise junior auditors, ensuring adherence to professional standards and quality.

· Support strategic decisions by providing insights related to business controls, compliance, and reporting standards unique to automobile dealerships.

Qualifications & Experience

· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or related field.

· Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Chartered Accountant (CA) Inter, or similar qualification preferred.

· Minimum 5 years of relevant internal audit experience, preferably in the automotive, manufacturing, or retail distribution sectors.

· In-depth knowledge of internal audit techniques, India-specific regulatory landscape (GST, Motor Vehicles Act, Shops and Establishments Act, environmental laws), and industry best practices.

· Experience with ERP and dealership management systems is an advantage.

Skills & Competencies

· Analytical and problem-solving mindset with strong attention to detail.

· Expertise in risk assessment, financial analysis, report writing, and process improvement.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to present complex findings accessibly to leadership.

· Ability to lead teams, independently manage multiple audits simultaneously, and influence organizational change.

· High standards of integrity, discretion, and professional judgment.

Special Considerations for Automobile Dealer Groups

· Working knowledge of inventory flows, vehicle procurement, warranty, and service claim processes unique to automobile dealerships.

· Understanding of compliance needs for GST, vehicle registration, and allied documentation.

· Capacity to assess workshop operations, spare parts management, and customer billing transparency for fraud prevention and compliance.

Job Type: Permanent

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
