Summary
The Senior Financial Planning Analyst (FP&A) provides business leaders and leadership with the analysis and information they need to make operational, financial and strategic decisions. This role supports the annual planning, forecasting and budgeting process and involves modeling & analysis of financial statements, variance analysis through spreadsheet automation, macros, PowerBI and Workday Adaptive Planning.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Performs quantitative analysis of operational and financial data
- Prepares financial reports for internal use at the company by collecting, analyzing, formatting and presenting information
- Evaluates new projects and investment opportunities
- Builds budgets and forecasts of future company performance
- Designs, develops and maintains a corporate financial model that details the entire company’s operations and projects future performance
- Uses complex knowledge of IT systems such as, but not limited to, Excel spreadsheet automation, macros, report generation, data visualization, Power BI and Workday Adaptive Planning
- Collaborates with stakeholders across the organization
- Cultivates ongoing improvements in finance and business processes and methodologies
- Champions and inspire creativity with fresh thinking, optimism, and resourcefulness
- Creates accurate, timely and structured data supporting review company initiatives
- Works closely with business and finance leaders coordinating on special projects & data requests
- Develops and enhancement of financial metrics underpinning the business
- Creates financial modeling and analytics, supporting current critical activities
- Develops Dashboards for Management
- Acts as a liaison between Finance, IT and operations, using superior communication skills to elicit, document, analyze and validate requirements
- Directs development of visualization & reporting
- Streamlines the reporting/budgeting/forecast process to give management more visibility over key items
- Develops databases and maintain data collection and cleanup
- Provides mentoring and guidance to lower-level employees
- May perform other duties as assigned by management
Skills And Knowledge
- Proficient with complex formulas, matrix, array formulas, regression analysis, interactive pivot tables to create custom dashboards
- Complex knowledge of IT systems such as, but not limited to, Excel spreadsheet automation, macros, report generation, data visualization, Power BI and Workday Adaptive Planning
- Experience taking ownership of, reviewing, questioning, and thoughtfully challenging data; is accurate and organized
- Ability to drive actions and timelines with senior leaders
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in project management, computational and applied mathematics, and/or finance. Master’s degree preferred
- 7 years+ financial analysis, and willingness to become the in-house Workday Adaptive Planning Expert
- Advance knowledge of supply chain management
- Must have a passion for finance
- Outstanding multitasking abilities
- Ability to work well under pressure to meet tight deadlines
