Job Title: Senior Engineer – Tendering & Costing – DG Sets
Department: Project Sales / Engineering / Tendering
Location: Noida, Uttar Pradesh
Reporting To: Manager – Tendering / Head – Engineering
Experience Required: 5–8 years in tendering, costing, and solutioning for DG sets or power generation systems
Qualification: B.E./B.Tech in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering
Role Overview:
The Senior Engineer – Tendering & Costing will be responsible for driving the end-to-end tendering process for DG Set solutions, ensuring timely, optimized, and competitive bid submissions. This role demands close collaboration with internal stakeholders, in-depth knowledge of tender norms, and a strategic approach to technical and commercial evaluations. The ideal candidate should possess a strong sense of ownership, technical acumen, and the ability to lead continuous improvements in bid management practices.
Key Responsibilities:

Bid Management:
Lead the complete tendering lifecycle – from bid evaluation, technical solutioning, costing, to final submission.
Develop competitive and compliant bid strategies aligned with organizational objectives.
Ensure timely submission of tenders with zero deviations from client specifications.
Cross-functional Coordination:
Liaise closely with Sales, SCM, Execution, Design, and Finance teams to gather inputs and ensure accurate proposals.
Conduct regular coordination meetings to resolve bottlenecks and ensure flow of information.
Technical & Commercial Solutioning:
Analyze project requirements and propose optimal technical configurations and layout designs.
Standardize engineering documentation and tender layouts using digital tools to reduce bid cycle time.
Identify risks and incorporate appropriate contractual clauses and pricing strategies.
Process Excellence:
Standardize workflows, templates, and documentation for efficient tendering practices.
Implement and manage digital tools and dashboards for bid tracking, analytics, and decision-making support.
Drive rigorous internal bid reviews and approval mechanisms.
Team Development & Leadership:
Mentor and train junior engineers and tendering professionals in best practices and industry standards.
Define roles, KPIs, and clear career progression paths within the team.
Foster a culture of accountability, customer-focus, and continuous improvement.
Post-Tender Activities:
Handle post-bid clarifications, technical discussions, and support in commercial negotiations.
Ensure timely response and resolution of client queries during post-tender stages.
Compliance & Market Intelligence:
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tendering regulations, industry benchmarks, and competitor strategies.
Contribute to strategic planning based on evolving market trends and customer needs.
Required Skills & Competencies:

In-depth knowledge of DG Sets, power systems, and allied mechanical/electrical configurations
Strong experience in tendering, estimation, costing, and proposal engineering
Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD, and relevant costing/digital engineering tools
Excellent interpersonal and cross-functional coordination skills
Analytical mindset with attention to detail
Ability to work under tight deadlines with a solution-oriented approach
Knowledge of government and private sector bidding norms
Preferred Background:
