Role Description

Senior Electrical Design Engineer

Experience: 2-10 Years (Relevant experience)

Responsibilities:

• Design and Development:

   Lead the design, development, and maintenance of complex electrical power distribution and control systems (both High Tension (HT) and Low Tension (LT)) based on project specifications and industry standards.

• Equipment Specification:

   Specify and select major electrical equipment, including Power Control Centers (PCC), Motor Control Centers (MCC), Distribution Boards (DBS), Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS), and Generators.

• Documentation and Drawings:

   Prepare and review technical documentation, including Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), General Arrangement (GA) drawings, panel layouts, wiring diagrams, cable schedules, and Bill of Materials (BOM).

• System Integration and Controls:

   Design and integrate control and monitoring systems, including IBMS (Integrated Building Management Systems) / HVAC controls, and PLC/DDC/SCADA systems for industrial automation or building services applications.

• Calculations and Analysis:

   Perform necessary engineering calculations, such as load flow, short circuit analysis, protective device coordination studies, arc flash analysis, lighting calculations, and earthing / grounding designs.

• Software Proficiency:

   Utilize relevant design and engineering software, including AutoCAD and/or Revit, for creating detailed electrical drawings and schematics.

• Compliance and Safety:

   Ensure all designs comply with local and national electrical codes (e.g., NEC, IEC standards), safety regulations, and project-specific requirements.

• Collaboration and Mentorship:

   Collaborate with cross-functional teams (mechanical, civil, software engineers, architects, clients, and contractors) to ensure seamless project integration. May mentor junior engineers and support staff.

• Project Lifecycle Support:

   Provide technical support throughout the project lifecycle, including feasibility studies, design reviews, manufacturing support, site supervision, installation, testing, and commissioning activities. 

Key Qualifications & Skills:

·        B.Tech / Diploma in Electrical Engineering or a related field

·        Extensive experience in electrical design within industrial, commercial, or data center environments.

·        Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD and/or Revit.

·        Strong knowledge of power systems, control theory, and industrial automation.

·        Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

·        Knowledge of relevant industry standards and safety protocols.
