Role Overview

Senior Electrical Design Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the complete

  electrical design lifecycle

  for building projects from concept to GFC stage
• Perform

  load calculations, demand assessment, and system sizing

• Design

  LT power distribution systems

  , transformers, DG sets, UPS & emergency power systems
• Prepare

  Single Line Diagrams (SLD), riser diagrams, panel schedules, and DB schedules

• Design and review

  lighting layouts

  (indoor, outdoor & emergency lighting) with lux calculations
• Design

  earthing and lightning protection systems

  as per relevant IS / IEC standards

Specialized Building Systems

• Design and coordinate

  ELV systems

  including:
• Fire alarm systems
  
• CCTV & access control
  
• PA / BGM systems
  
• Structured cabling systems
  
• Ensure electrical designs meet

  hospital-specific and safety-critical requirements

  where applicable

Codes, Compliance & Quality

• Ensure compliance with

  NBC, IS codes, local authority norms, and fire department requirements

• Support

  authority approvals and fire NOC documentation

• Apply

  value engineering and energy-efficient design principles

• Review junior engineers’ drawings and calculations for accuracy and quality
  

Coordination & Project Delivery

• Coordinate closely with

  HVAC, Plumbing, Architecture, and Structural teams

• Participate in

  design coordination meetings and client discussions

• Provide technical support during

  tendering, construction, and site execution

  stages
• Review vendor submittals, technical datasheets, and shop drawings
  

Mentorship & Leadership

• Guide and mentor junior electrical engineers and trainees
  
• Support the team in adopting best practices and standardization
  
• Contribute to continuous improvement of UEDC’s design processes
  

Software & Tools

• AutoCAD (mandatory)
  
• Dialux / Relux (lighting design)
  
• MS Excel (design calculations & BOQs)
  
• ETAP / SKM / EasyPower (working knowledge preferred)
  
• Revit MEP (basic knowledge is an added advantage)
  

Required Qualifications & Experience

• B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical Engineering
  

• 5–8 years

  of relevant experience in

  MEP building design consultancy

• Proven experience in projects such as

  hospitals, hotels, educational institutes, and industrial buildings

• Strong understanding of

  Indian codes and electrical safety standards
