About The Role
We are looking for an experienced and hands-on
SDET Manager
with a strong focus on
automation
and
tooling
to lead and mentor a team of highly skilled Software Development Engineers in Test (SDETs). In this role, you will be working with a team to define and execute
QA automation strategies
, drive the development of
automation frameworks
, and create tooling solutions to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our testing and release processes.As the SDET Manager, you will lead by example, contributing hands-on to the design and implementation of test automation solutions across the stack, while also focusing on building scalable tools that address day-to-day testing challenges. You will manage a team of talented SDETs, providing technical leadership and mentorship, and work closely with senior management to identify and mitigate quality risks. Your focus will be on continuous process improvement, quality automation, and driving the adoption of best practices in tooling across the organization.The ideal candidate will be
hands-on
, with deep experience in
test automation
, creating testing tools, and fostering a culture of
continuous improvement
. Experience in the
gaming industry
is a plus but not required.
Key Responsibilities
- Automation Strategy and Execution:
- Take a hands-on role in automating complex test cases, developing and maintaining automation frameworks, and ensuring that automated tests are integrated into the CI/CD pipeline (Jenkins, GitLab CI, etc.).
- Work closely with engineering teams to understand product features, identify testing requirements, and develop automated solutions that provide early feedback in the development cycle.
- Tooling Development and Innovation:
- Focus on creating tooling solutions for tasks such as test data generation, environment management, test execution, reporting, and defect tracking.
- Stay on top of emerging trends in automation and open-source tools, introducing innovative solutions to enhance the automation framework and tooling ecosystem.
- Collaboration and Cross-Functional Leadership:
- Identify risks and roadblocks and collaborate with stakeholders to resolve issues and drive quality improvements.
- Foster strong relationships with management, providing regular updates on quality metrics, automation progress, and any issues affecting timelines or product quality
- Hands-On Problem Solving skill and Risk Mitigation:
- Be proactive in identifying risks related to software quality and provide technical leadership to mitigate these risks.
- Support the team in resolving technical blockers and facilitating timely delivery of high-quality software
- Lead and Manage SDET Team:
- Manage, mentor, and grow a team of SDETs focused on test automation, tool development, and improving testing processes.
- Provide clear direction and ensure the team’s work aligns with company-wide goals for product quality and test automation.
- Conduct performance reviews, provide feedback, and support team members’ career development.
GOOD TO HAVE
- Experience with gaming industry QA or game testing processes.
- Experience with security testing frameworks (e.g., OWASP ZAP, Burp Suite) for identifying vulnerabilities in APIs and web applications
