Role Summary

Provide academic and administrative leadership to deliver outstanding student outcomes, teacher effectiveness, safety & compliance, and sustainable school growth (admissions, reputation, finances).

Key Responsibilities

Academic Leadership

  • Own curriculum delivery & results for all grades; monitor lesson plans, classroom observations, and assessments.
  • Drive teacher development: hiring, induction, observations, feedback, goal-setting, and annual appraisals.
  • Ensure inclusive education, differentiation, SEN accommodations, and child-centric pedagogy.

Operations & Compliance

  • Ensure 100% compliance with CBSE/ICSE/State norms (affiliation, safety audits, labs, staff qualifications).
  • Implement Child Protection Policy; run ICC/PoCSO committees; ensure transport, fire, health & safety SOPs.
  • Oversee timetables, exams, events, duty rosters, and annual calendars.

Stakeholder & Community

  • Build high-trust relationships with parents (PTMs, communication, grievance redressal).
  • Represent the school to media, local authorities, and community partners; drive alumni & outreach.

Admissions, Brand & Finance

  • Partner with admissions/marketing on enrolments, retention, and brand; conduct school tours & events.
  • Manage budgets, fee realization discipline, vendor contracts, and cost optimization with quality.
  • Maintain ERP/LMS data integrity; use dashboards for academic and business KPIs.

Technology & Innovation

  • Integrate LMS, smart classrooms, language/math labs; promote data-driven decisions.
  • Launch clubs, olympiads, MUNs, sports & co-scholastic programs; encourage teacher innovation.
Qualifications
  • Master’s degree preferred (

    M.A./M.Sc./M.Com

    );

    B.Ed.

    mandatory;

    M.Ed./Ph.D.

    desirable.
  • Strong English communication; Hindi/regional language is a plus.
  • Familiarity with CBSE/ICSE/IB/IGCSE frameworks and inspection/audit processes.
Experience
  • Principal:

    10–15+ years total experience with

    3–5+ years

    in school leadership (Principal/VP/Headmistress).
  • Vice Principal/Head of School (if hiring at #2 role):

    7–12 years with

    2–3 years

    in academic coordination/section head.

  • Budget adherence, fee realization %, and cost/quality balance
Compensation (guidance; varies by city/brand/residential)
  • Principal:

    ₹18–35 LPA+ (top metros/residential/international schools may exceed)
  • Vice Principal:

    ₹10–22 LPA
  • Housing/transport for residential schools as per policy.
Schedule & Benefits
  • 6-day academic week (typical); leaves as per policy; PF/ESI/medical; accommodation for boarding schools.
