Job Description: Sales Manager – Tier 3 Cities (Solar Rooftop Division) Position: Sales Manager Industry: Solar Energy (Rooftop Solar Panel Installation) Location: Tier 3 cities across Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand & Odisha Travel Requirement: Frequent intra-city/district travel within assigned regions Role Objective: To drive solar rooftop sales in Tier 3 cities by building strong local networks, developing city-level sales strategies, and managing front-line sales teams for consistent business growth. Key Responsibilities: Sales Strategy & Execution: Develop and implement sales strategies tailored for Tier 3 city markets. Identify target customers (households, small businesses, schools, institutions) and generate consistent leads. Track competitor activity and ensure competitive positioning in pricing and offerings. Team Leadership & Development: Recruit, train, and supervise city-level sales executives and channel partners. Monitor daily sales activities, motivate teams, and drive performance to achieve sales targets. Provide regular coaching on product knowledge, negotiation, and closing techniques. Customer Acquisition & Relationship Building: Build a strong local presence by engaging with customers, institutions, and community leaders. Educate customers on solar rooftop benefits, subsidy schemes, and financing options. Ensure high customer satisfaction by coordinating closely with installation and service teams. Coordination & Operations Support: Work closely with Operations Manager and HO to ensure timely material delivery and installation in Tier 3 cities. Assist in resolving on-ground issues related to logistics, permits, or subsidy processes. Reporting & Analysis: Maintain sales reports, conversion ratios, and funnel health. Track team performance through KPIs and present updates to senior management. Key Skills & Competencies: Strong knowledge of solar rooftop systems and customer economics. Proven ability to manage Tier 3 city markets and mid-sized customer base. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Strong sales closing ability and negotiation skills. Comfortable with extensive fieldwork and team monitoring. Qualifications: Graduate/ Post Graduate in Engineering, Business, or Renewable Energy. 4–6 years of experience in sales/ business development in solar/renewable or related sectors. Prior experience in Tier 3 city sales management preferred. Performance Indicators (KPIs): Achievement of monthly and quarterly sales targets. Number of Tier 3 city customers acquired. Sales team productivity and performance. Lead-to-conversion ratio. Customer satisfaction and repeat business.
