Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Sales Manager located in Vapi/Mumbai. The Sales Manager will be responsible for achieving sales targets, developing and maintaining relationships with clients, creating and implementing sales strategies, managing the sales team, analyzing market trends, and identifying opportunities for growth. Additionally, the role involves coordinating with other departments to ensure customer satisfaction and the effective fulfillment of orders. As a representative of the company, the Sales Manager will also participate in industry events, trade shows, and other business development activities.


Qualifications

  • Proven track record in Sales Strategy, Business Development, and Client Relationship Management
  • Strong skills in Market Research, Competitor Analysis, and Strategic Planning
  • Proficiency in Communication, Negotiation, and Presentation
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and manage a sales team effectively to achieve targets
  • Knowledge of Specialty Chemicals or related industries preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field
  • Willingness to work on-site in Vapi, Gujarat

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Business Development

  • Generate 

    new inquiries and customers

     for specialty chemical intermediates (pigments, agrochemicals, dyes, pharma intermediates).
  • Conduct 

    regular customer visits

    , understand technical and commercial requirements, and identify opportunities.
  • Coordinate 

    sampling, trials, and approvals

     with QC, production, and R&D teams.
  • Negotiate pricing, volumes, and commercial terms in alignment with management strategy.
  • Convert inquiries into 

    confirmed orders

     with profitable margins.

Sales Execution & Coordination

  • Act as the 

    primary interface between customers and internal teams

     (Production, QC, PPC, Dispatch).
  • Ensure 

    order execution as per committed timelines

     by coordinating production planning and dispatch schedules.
  • Monitor order progress and proactively resolve execution bottlenecks.
  • Ensure 

    customer satisfaction

     through timely communication and follow-ups.

Market Intelligence & Growth

  • Track market trends, competitor pricing, and customer demand patterns.
  • Share market feedback with management to support 

    product planning and capacity utilization

  • Identify opportunities for 

    repeat business and long-term contracts

Documentation & Commercial Discipline

  • Coordinate preparation of 

    sales-related documentation

     (POs, invoices, dispatch instructions).
  • Support payment follow-ups in coordination with accounts and management.
  • Maintain proper sales records, MIS, and customer databases.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Number of 

    new customers / inquiries generated

  • Sales value and volume

     achieved (monthly / quarterly)
  • Inquiry-to-order conversion ratio

  • On-time sampling and order execution
  • Customer retention and repeat orders
  • Gross margin adherence as per targets
  • Customer complaints attended & resolved

Candidate Profile

Education

  • Graduate / Postgraduate in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field (preferred)
  • MBA (Sales / Marketing) – added advantage

Experience

  • 5–10 years of B2B sales experience

     in 

    specialty chemicals / intermediates / dyes / pigments / pharma chemicals

  • Strong exposure to 

    chemical manufacturing sales

    , not just trading
  • Experience handling 

    technical customers and plant coordination

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong customer-facing and negotiation skills
  • Ability to understand 

    technical requirements and applications

  • Good coordination and follow-up discipline
  • Commercial awareness of pricing, margins, and credit
  • Willingness to travel for customer visits
  • Comfortable working in 

    manufacturing-driven environments
