Job Description

Role Overview

The Manager – Sales & Marketing will lead and execute rural sales operations, oversee localized marketing initiatives, and coordinate with supply chain and field teams under the BINDI Solar Enterprise. The role demands strong sales acumen, data-driven decision-making, and the ability to activate markets through grassroots sales agents, particularly Solar Sakhis. This is a field-intensive role, requiring hands-on leadership to drive market penetration and revenue growth across diverse geographies.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Strategy & Execution

  • Lead and drive regional sales performance by enabling Solar Sakhis and field sales agents to meet their targets through structured planning and tracking.
  • Develop and implement territory-wise market activation plans aligned with product availability and regional demand.
  • Monitor and improve conversion rates, lead generation, and repeat customer engagement.

Marketing & Market Activation

  • Co-design and implement localized marketing campaigns, outreach drives, and seasonal promotions to boost awareness and product uptake in rural areas.
  • Support the development of audio, visual, and print-based collaterals tailored for low-literacy rural audiences.
  • Leverage field data and community feedback to refine marketing approaches and outreach efforts.

Field Force Management

  • Lead and mentor on-ground sales agents, including Solar Sakhis, Ground Coordinators, and other field staff.
  • Conduct regular trainings on sales techniques, product knowledge, and communication skills.
  • Use dashboards and performance tools to track progress and support underperforming regions with focused interventions.

Supply Chain Coordination

  • Ensure timely product availability through collaboration with supply chain teams on inventory planning, restocking, and last-mile delivery.
  • Anticipate demand based on campaign momentum and sales trends to align supply accordingly.

Data & MIS Management

  • Use MIS platforms to collect, analyze, and report on sales performance and market trends.
  • Generate actionable insights to improve forecasting, product distribution, and outreach effectiveness.
  • Provide data-backed recommendations for pricing, bundling, and promotion strategies.

Market Intelligence

  • Stay informed on competitor activity, emerging rural market trends, and shifting consumer behavior.
  • Translate field insights into feedback for product innovation and organizational planning.

Preferred Profile

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in rural sales, FMCG, renewable energy, or social enterprise sectors.
  • Demonstrated success in achieving sales targets, launching rural marketing campaigns, and managing field teams.
  • Strong understanding of solar product adoption in rural markets, particularly through women-led micro-enterprises.
  • Proficiency in sales tracking tools, CRM/MIS platforms, and data-driven decision-making.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with a hands-on approach to field-based challenges.
  • Fluency in Hindi (local dialects preferred) and working knowledge of English.
  • Willingness to travel extensively and stay in rural locations as needed.
  • Flexibility to travel and stay regularly at the Harmara base (Kishangarh, Rajasthan) and other enterprise hubs.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹60,000.00 - ₹75,000.00 per month
