EY-Enterprise Risk – Business Consulting – Manager - Internal Controls over Financial Reporting (ICOFR)
As part of our Business Consulting, you will be supporting the Process and Controls Team in client engagements related to Risk Consulting, Internal Audit, GRC Consulting for various clients across the MENA region. The client base spans across various sectors and includes collaboration with other teams within Consulting services.
The opportunity
We’re looking for experienced professionals with experience in the Internal Controls over Financial Reporting (ICOFR), internal audit, risk assessment, and compliance to join our Process & Controls Team. This position will be based out of our offices (Kochi/ Thiruvananthapuram) in the beautiful state of Kerala.Working in our practice, you will have the opportunity to work with clients to provide practical risk management, internal audit solutions and gaining valuable experience in a variety of clients.
Your Key Responsibilities
The current role requires executing internal audit and other risk consulting engagements focused on Internal Controls over Financial Reporting (ICOFR) across various sectors. As part of the role, the candidate is expected to:
- Lead execution of ICOFR engagements, including detailed process walkthroughs, identification of key controls, and assessment of design and operating effectiveness in compliance with the COSO framework.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive consolidated risk and control registers for significant financial reporting processes, ensuring mapping to COSO components and updating for changes.
- Facilitate control assessment workshops and collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify control gaps, validate controls, and recommend enhancements.
- Conduct detailed gap analyses, prepare ICFR reports with actionable remediation plans, and support development of roadmaps for short- and long-term control improvements.
- Develop and update Risk & Control Matrices (RCMs) for significant processes, especially where documentation is absent or inadequate, ensuring thorough coverage of financial reporting risks.
- Manage the ICFR self-assessment process, tracking control documentation, remediation plans, owners, and timelines to ensure timely follow-up and resolution.
- Provide training and awareness sessions on COSO ICFR frameworks and internal control best practices across business functions to strengthen organizational control culture.
- Prepare and review detailed ICFR working papers (process documentation, testing results, issue logs) to support audit readiness and compliance reviews.

To qualify for the role, you must have
- Chartered Accountant (CA) / CPA / MBA in Finance
- 8+ years of experience in Internal Controls, Audit, Risk Management, or Finance
- Expertise in IFRS compliance
- Experience with SAP and Oracle ERP systems (preferred)
