Job Title: Restaurant Manager

Job Summary

The Restaurant Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of restaurant operations, ensuring exceptional customer service, high-quality food standards, and efficient day-to-day functioning. This role involves managing staff, controlling costs, driving sales, and maintaining a positive and productive work environment.

Key Responsibilities

1. Operations Management

  • Manage daily restaurant operations, ensuring smooth front-of-house and back-of-house coordination.
  • Ensure compliance with company standards, service procedures, and food quality guidelines.
  • Oversee opening and closing procedures.
  • Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and sanitation standards throughout the restaurant.

2. Staff Leadership & Development

  • Recruit, hire, train, and supervise restaurant staff.
  • Prepare staff schedules and manage shift coverage.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching or disciplinary actions when needed.
  • Foster teamwork and a positive workplace culture.

3. Customer Service

  • Ensure guests have an exceptional dining experience.
  • Handle customer complaints and resolve issues professionally.
  • Build customer loyalty and maintain a strong brand reputation.

4. Financial Management

  • Manage budgets, sales targets, and cost control measures.
  • Oversee cash handling, daily sales reports, and reconciliation.
  • Monitor inventory, reduce waste, and ensure efficient stock management.
  • Analyze sales data and implement strategies to increase revenue.

5. Compliance & Safety

  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and food hygiene regulations.
  • Conduct regular audits and risk assessments.
  • Enforce company policies, SOPs, and legal requirements.

6. Marketing & Business Development

  • Support local marketing initiatives, promotions, and events.
  • Work with management to create strategies to increase customer engagement.
  • Maintain relationships with suppliers and partners.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management or related field (preferred).
  • 3–5 years of experience in restaurant management or hospitality.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of POS systems, inventory management, and restaurant operations.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle pressure.
