Research Associate

Pahle India Foundation (PIF), chaired by Dr. Rajiv Kumar (Former Vice Chairman, NITI Aayog), is inviting applications for the role of a Research Associate in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh.

We work closely with state and central governments on district-led development, export-led manufacturing, Ease of doing business, strengthening data systems, and impact assessments.

Role Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct applied research on economic growth, statistics, and public policy issues.
• Analyse large datasets and apply econometric/statistical techniques for policy insights.
• Draft

  policy briefs, reports, and presentations

  for decision-makers.
• Engage with government officials, industry leaders, and academic stakeholders.
• Contribute to

  roundtables, workshops, and consultations

  on policy challenges.
• Support project design, proposal development, research project management and internal capability building.
• Work with other researchers and ensure high-quality outputs.
  

Qualifications & Experience

• Master’s in

  Economics, Statistics, or related fields

  from a reputed institution.
• Minimum

  2 years of experience

  in policy research, data analysis, consulting, or academia.
• Strong proficiency in

  data analysis and econometrics

  (

  Stata/R/Python

  ).
• Demonstrated ability to design and independently manage research projects.
• Excellent writing, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Adherence to research timelines and deliverables in a fast paced policy environment.
• Preference will be given to candidates with prior work experience in

  state-level or applied policy research

  , especially in Madhya Pradesh.
