Job Title: Rice Quality Manager
Department: Quality & ProductionLocation: India- gandhidham,gujarat Role OverviewThe Rice Quality Manager is responsible for ensuring the quality standards of rice throughout the procurement, processing, storage, polishing, sorting, packing, and dispatch stages. The role includes monitoring grain quality parameters, maintaining quality systems, managing laboratory testing, and coordinating with suppliers, production teams, and customers to ensure consistent product quality.Key ResponsibilitiesQuality Control & AssuranceImplement and monitor quality standards for raw paddy, semi-processed, and finished rice.Conduct quality checks for grain length, moisture, purity, color, foreign matter, broken %, and aroma.Oversee grading, sorting, polishing, and packing operations to maintain product consistency.Approve final batches before dispatch according to contract specifications and market requirements.Laboratory & Testing ManagementSupervise lab staff conducting routine rice quality tests.Maintain testing equipment and calibration schedules.Ensure accurate documentation and reporting of test results.Supplier & Procurement CoordinationInspect incoming paddy from suppliers and traders.Evaluate new suppliers based on grain quality parameters and supply consistency.Work with procurement to reject substandard materials and improve sourcing quality.Process Improvement & Standards ComplianceImplement continuous improvement initiatives in milling, grading, and sorting.Ensure compliance with FSSAI, ISO, HACCP, BRC, and export quality standards.Address customer complaints and conduct root-cause analysis to prevent recurrence.Team Leadership & ReportingTrain mill operators, sorting line staff, and lab technicians on quality standards.Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly quality reports for management review.Key Skills & CompetenciesStrong knowledge of Basmati / Non-Basmati rice grades and processing standards.Understanding of milling parameters, moisture control, and storage practices.Ability to identify defects and troubleshoot production issues.Good communication and team management skills.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Food Technology / Agriculture / Grain Science or related field.7–10 years experience in rice mill operations or rice export industry.Experience with color sorters (e.g., Satake, Buhler), polishers, and graders preferred.Performance KPIsBatch rejection rateCustomer complaint rateYield efficiency and grain breakage rateConsistency in final product qualityinterested candidates can apply on HR@prlagro.comor whatsapp 7211186301
