QE Automation Lead

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a QE Automation Lead located in Hyderabad. The QE Automation Lead will be responsible for designing, developing and maintaining robust automation frameworks (lead + IC role), mentoring junior engineers, and ensuring high-quality software releases through automated testing best practices. Considering the size of the team, this role will also required individual contribution to tasks apart from being a mentor/lead.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design, development, and maintenance of scalable UI/API automation frameworks using

  Playwright

  (TypeScript/JavaScript or Python).
• Collaborate with product owners, developers, DevOps, and other stakeholders to define test strategies and acceptance criteria.
• Create and execute comprehensive test plans, test cases, and regression suites.
• Drive the automation roadmap and strategy across projects, focusing on continuous improvement.
• Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to quality and automation standards.
• Set up and manage CI/CD integration for automated test execution and reporting.
• Analyze test results, identify root causes of issues, and work with the development team to drive resolution.
• Coach and mentor junior QE engineers, sharing best practices and promoting a culture of quality and automation.

•Provide technical leadership in identifying and implementing tools and processes for automation, performance testing, and quality assurance.

Key requirements

• 5+ years of experience in Quality Engineering, with at least 1.5 years in a lead role.
• Strong hands-on experience with

  Playwright

  for automation (TypeScript/JavaScript or Python).
• Solid understanding of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
• Experience in developing and maintaining test frameworks and automation scripts for web applications.
• Proficiency with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI.
• Experience with version control systems like Git.
• Familiarity with REST APIs and tools such as Postman or REST Assured.
• Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
• Should an offer be made, candidate must be able to join us within 2-3 weeks time.

Good to Have

• Supply Chain Domain expertise
• Knowledge on Cloud technologies.
• Experience working with embedded devices is an added advantage.
• Experience in testing wireless and networking products (Bluetooth, WiFi, Cellular, IOT etc. devices preferred).
