QC INSPECTOR - WELDING Job Summary: As a Welding QC Inspector in an oil & gas piping company, you will play a critical role in ensuring that welding activities meet the highest quality and safety standards. You will be responsible for inspecting and evaluating welding procedures, conducting non-destructive testing (NDT), and maintaining detailed records of welding activities. Your technical expertise and attention to detail will be essential in ensuring the integrity of welded structures and piping systems. Responsibilities: · Conduct comprehensive inspections of welding activities, including root, filler, and cap passes, to ensure compliance with technical specifications and industry standards. · Review and approve Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), Procedure Qualification Records (PQR), and Welding Procedure Qualification (WPQ) documents. · Perform various Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) techniques such as ultrasonic testing (UT), radiographic testing (RT), magnetic particle testing (MT), and dye penetrant testing (PT) to assess weld quality. · Evaluate welder qualifications and oversee performance qualification tests to ensure welders are certified according to project requirements. · Monitor pre-weld, in-process, and post-weld operations, including material verification, joint preparation, and post-weld heat treatment (PWHT). · Ensure adherence to safety protocols and quality standards during welding operations, including the use of proper personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe welding practices. · Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to resolve technical issues related to welding and piping. · Maintain accurate records of welding activities, inspection results, and NDT reports for project documentation. Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action processes to address welding defects and improve welding quality. · Stay updated with the latest welding technologies and industry standards to ensure the best practices are implemented. · Collaborate with: Project Managers, Welding Engineers, NDT Technicians, Safety Officers, and other stakeholders. Documentation: Maintain and update inspection records, welding logs, and NDT reports in the company’s quality management system. · Meetings: Participate in regular QA/QC meetings to discuss inspection results, quality issues, and continuous improvement initiatives. QC INSPECTOR - PAINTING · Job Summary: QC Inspector – Painting ensures all painting, coating, and surface preparation activities comply with project specifications, industry standards and client requirements. Responsibilities include inspecting surface preparation, verifying coating application, conducting DFT/WFT measurements, and performing NDT methods like adhesion and holiday testing. The role also involves monitoring blasting operations, ensuring compliance with required standards, and documenting inspection results, deviations, and corrective actions. Responsibilities: · Perform pre-surface preparation inspections to check for cleanliness, surface profile, and environmental conditions. · Monitor and inspect blasting and coating activities as per project specifications, international standards (SSPC, NACE, ISO, ASTM), and client requirements. · Conduct Dry Film Thickness (DFT) measurements and check for adhesion, curing, and overall coating quality. · Ensure proper application of primers, intermediate, and final coatings as per approved Painting Procedure Specification (PPS). · Identify defects such as pinholes, runs, sags, overcoating, and improper curing, and recommend corrective actions. · Ensure compliance with relevant standards such as NACE, SSPC, ISO 12944, and ASTM D standards. · Review and verify painting and coating material certifications and batch numbers. · Maintain inspection records, including daily reports, test results, and non-conformance reports (NCRs). · Conduct audits to ensure proper storage, handling, and mixing of paint materials. · Perform wet film thickness (WFT) and dry film thickness (DFT) tests using calibrated instruments. · Conduct adhesion tests (pull-off/tape tests) and holiday (spark) testing for coated surfaces. · Monitor environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, dew point) before and during coating applications. · Prepare detailed inspection and test reports and submit findings to the QA/QC department. · Ensure adherence to HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) standards in all painting/coating operations. QC INSPECTOR - PIPING Job Summary: In this role, you will be responsible for inspecting and ensuring the quality of piping systems and related components in accordance with all related specifications, codes, and standards. Responsibilities: · Conduct regular quality inspections on all piping systems and components, ensuring compliance with Qatar Energy's specifications, codes, and standards. · Perform visual and dimensional inspections to identify any defects or deviations. · Ensure all piping works are installed in accordance with drawings, specifications, and local regulations. · Monitor and supervise on-site welding activities to ensure quality and safety standards are met. · Conduct tests such as pressure tests, radiographic tests, and ultrasonic tests to validate the integrity and functionality of piping systems. · Record and maintain accurate inspection records, logs, and reports. · Collaborate with project teams and contractors to address and rectify identified quality issues. · Keep up to date with industry standards, regulations, and best practices. · Provide training and guidance to junior inspectors and other personnel on quality control procedures and standards. · Assist in the development and implementation of quality control procedures and policies. · Perform QA/QC inspection of materials, maintenance repairs, modifications, and replacements of static equipment, process piping, and storage tanks as per Qatar Energy's specifications. · Coordinate and provide support to engineers for the periodic inspection of gas cylinders and portable tanks, maintaining certificates and records. · Perform QA/QC activities such as welding, NDT, heat treatment, pressure tests, GRP/FRP/composite wrapping, etc., as per specifications and contract requirements. · Perform audits on suppliers and contractors' quality assurance and control systems, preparing and submitting audit reports for review Qualifications: Mechanical BE/Diploma with CSWIP/BGAS, min 7-10 yrs exp in Oil & Gas Industry · Educational Requirements …………………………………………………………… · …………………….. years of experience · Certification………………………………………………………………………... · Technical skills ………………………………………………… · Knowledge of Qatar Energy's specifications, codes, and standards. · Strong communication skills, both oral and written. · Computer literate. & Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook. · Relevant certifications such as NDE (Non-Destructive Examination), API (American Petroleum Institute), II, ASQ (American Society for Quality), CWI (Certified Welding Inspector), CWB (Canadian Welding Bureau), UTT (Ultrasonic Testing Technician), MT (Magnetic Particle Testing), PT (Liquid Penetrant Testing), and VT (Visual Testing) are required. · At least 5 years of experience as a QC Inspector, with at least 3 years in piping inspection. · At least 2 years of experience in inspection of oil, gas, and petrochemical projects. · Good knowledge of international codes and standards (ASME, AWS, ASTM, API, NACE/ISO). · Proficient written and spoken English & Hindi. · Good interpersonal and essential leadership skills. · Data capturing and analysis skills. · Ability to work as a delegate to engineers and provide required technical support to the team.
