Purchase Manager

Key Responsibilities

1. Procurement & Sourcing

• Source raw materials, packaging materials, consumables, and indirect goods in line with production requirements.
• Ensure competitive pricing, quality standards, and timely availability of materials.
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and long-term supply agreements with vendors.

2. Vendor Development & Management

• Identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable suppliers.
• Maintain and strengthen supplier relationships to ensure smooth supply.
• Monitor and review vendor performance against quality, cost, and delivery KPIs.

3. Cost Optimization

• Conduct market research and stay updated on commodity price trends.
• Drive cost-saving projects through strategic sourcing and process improvements.
• Implement measures to reduce procurement-related wastage or leakage.

4. Inventory & Supply Chain Coordination

• Collaborate with production, warehouse, and supply chain teams to ensure material availability as per production schedules.
• Maintain optimum inventory levels to avoid stockouts and excess stock.

5. Compliance & Documentation

• Ensure adherence to company procurement policies and legal/regulatory requirements.
• Maintain accurate documentation for purchase orders, contracts, and supplier records.
• Coordinate with the finance team for timely processing of vendor payments.

6. Strategic Procurement

• Support new product development (NPD) by sourcing materials as per R&D requirements.
• Evaluate alternative suppliers and sourcing options to reduce risk and improve resilience.
• Promote sustainable procurement by identifying eco-friendly and cost-effective alternatives.
