About the Role

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Purchase Manager to join our team. The role focuses on sourcing and procurement of raw materials, packaging materials (jars, bottles, labels, mono cartons, corrugated boxes, caps, pumps), consumables, and operational supplies required for manufacturing. The ideal candidate should have strong negotiation skills, vendor management capability, and experience in managing end-to-end procurement processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle procurement of

    packaging materials

    , raw materials, consumables & indirect materials.
  • Identify, evaluate, and develop new vendors to ensure competitive pricing, quality, and timely supply.
  • Create and process purchase orders (POs) as per requirement raised by internal departments.
  • Maintain stock levels and coordinate with store/production teams to ensure no material shortage.
  • Negotiate prices, payment terms, delivery schedules, and contracts with suppliers.
  • Track order status, follow up with vendors for timely delivery, and manage logistics coordination.
  • Conduct vendor comparison, rate analysis, and maintain supplier database.
  • Coordinate with QC/QA team for material approval and quality checks.
  • Monitor market trends, material cost fluctuations and suggest cost-saving opportunities.
  • Ensure documentation, GRN follow-ups, invoice verification & support in procurement audits.
  • Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and maintain proper records on ERP/MIS.

Requirements

  • Graduate/PG in Supply Chain, Commerce, MBA in Materials Management preferred.
  • 5+ years experience

    in procurement, preferably in FMCG/Manufacturing industry.
  • Strong knowledge of

    packaging material sourcing

    is an added advantage.
  • Good negotiation and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, ERP/SAP/Procurement Software handling.
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams & handle multiple purchase requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail and data/record management.
