Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking an experienced and reliable Procurement / Purchase Incharge to manage the end-to-end procurement of raw materials and packaging supplies for our bakery operations. The ideal candidate will ensure timely availability of key ingredients like flour, sugar, oils, dairy, fruits, dry goods, and packaging materials, while maintaining cost efficiency, quality standards, and optimal stock levels. This role is critical in supporting uninterrupted production and maintaining product consistency in a fast-paced bakery environment. Key Responsibilities Procurement Vendor Management Identify, evaluate, and onboard vendors for bakery-specific raw materials such as atta, maida, sugar, oil, yeast, dairy products, nuts, dry fruits, chocolates, fresh fruits, and vegetables. Source and purchase packaging materials like boxes, pouches, labels, and containers suitable for bakery products. Negotiate prices, payment terms, lead times, and contracts to ensure competitive and reliable sourcing. Monitor vendor performance based on quality, delivery timelines, and service. Inventory Stock Management Monitor daily stock levels of raw materials and packaging supplies to ensure uninterrupted production. Plan procurement schedules in coordination with the production team to meet baking schedules and seasonal demands. Implement FIFO/FEFO inventory practices to reduce waste and spoilage of perishable items. Maintain accurate records of stock movements, GRNs (Goods Receipt Notes), and material consumption. Quality Compliance Ensure all purchased materials meet quality standards, bakery production specifications, and FSSAI/food safety regulations. Conduct periodic quality checks on received items and resolve discrepancies or rejections with suppliers. Maintain documentation for audits, traceability, and food safety compliance. Coordination Reporting Collaborate with production, finance, and store departments to align procurement activities with production planning and cost control. Track and report procurement costs, inventory valuation, supplier performance, and order status on a regular basis. Assist in annual budgeting and cost-saving initiatives by analyzing spend data and market trends. Qualifications Bachelors degree or diploma in Supply Chain Management, Food Technology, Business Administration, or a related field. 3-5 years of experience in procurement, preferably in a bakery, food manufacturing, or hospitality industry.
