Job Profile : Purchase Manager Overview A Purchase Manager is responsible for overseeing the procurement of goods and services required by an organization. They ensure cost-effective purchasing, maintain supplier relationships, and manage inventory levels to support business operations efficiently. Key Responsibilities · Procurement Strategy & Planning · Develop and implement purchasing policies and procedures. · Analyse market trends to forecast demand and pricing. · Identify cost-saving opportunities and negotiate contracts. · Supplier Management · Source, evaluate, and select reliable suppliers/vendors. · Negotiate terms, pricing, and contracts with suppliers. · Maintain strong relationships and resolve supplier disputes. · Purchase Order Processing · Review and approve purchase requisitions. · Issue purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of materials. · Monitor order status and follow up on delays. · Inventory & Cost Control · Optimize inventory levels to prevent shortages or excess stock. · Track procurement expenses and ensure budget compliance. · Implement cost-reduction strategies without compromising quality. · Compliance & Documentation · Ensure adherence to company policies and legal regulations. · Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and contracts. · Conduct audits to verify supplier compliance with agreements. · Team Coordination · Collaborate with finance, logistics, and production teams. · Supervise and train purchasing staff (if applicable). Skills & Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Experience: 3+ years in procurement/purchasing, preferably in a similar industry. Technical Skills: Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
