Purchase Intern

Role Overview

The Purchase Intern will support the Purchase Department in managing day-to-day procurement activities. The role involves assisting with purchase processes, coordinating with suppliers, tracking purchase orders, and ensuring timely availability of materials. The intern will also help maintain accurate purchasing records, analyze procurement data, and contribute to improving purchasing efficiency and cost optimization.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in managing end-to-end purchasing and procurement processes.
• Create, update, and track Purchase Orders (POs) to ensure timely procurement.
• Coordinate and communicate with suppliers for quotations, deliveries, and follow-ups.
• Maintain accurate purchasing records, vendor details, and documentation.
• Support in analyzing purchasing data, costs, and trends to identify improvement opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and procedures.
• Assist the Purchase Team in vendor coordination and material availability planning.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives within the purchasing function.

Qualifications & Skills

• Basic to good understanding of purchasing processes, purchase management, and purchase orders.
• Strong analytical and purchasing skills to support informed procurement decisions.
• Ability to maintain detailed records and manage supplier-related information.
• Good communication, coordination, organizational, and time-management skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word) and familiarity with procurement/ERP systems.
• Prior experience in purchasing or procurement (internship experience acceptable) is an added advantage.
• Educational background in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Commerce, or a related field preferred.
