We are looking for a Purchase Intern to support our procurement team at Auckam Technologies Pvt Ltd. The role involves assisting with raising purchase orders, coordinating with suppliers, collecting quotations, tracking material deliveries, and maintaining procurement records. The intern will work closely with engineering and operations teams to support sourcing activities, analyse pricing, and ensure the timely availability of components. This position is ideal for candidates eager to learn supply chain processes in a fast-paced electronics and hardware development environment. Key Responsibilities Assist in raising Purchase Orders (POs): create POs, track acknowledgements, and follow up on delivery schedules. Support the sourcing process by identifying and evaluating potential suppliers, including domestic and international vendors. Prepare Request for Quotes (RFQs) for components, materials, and services, and coordinate with suppliers to collect quotes. Analyze supplier quotes: compare pricing, lead times, and quality to help the team make cost-effective decisions. Help maintain and update the supplier database, ensuring all relevant vendor information (e.g., certifications, performance metrics) is current. Track supplier performance: maintain scorecards (on-time delivery, quality, cost), and assist in reporting. Conduct market research: monitor component price trends, lead-time fluctuations, and risk factors. Support procurement projects such as cost-reduction initiatives, supplier qualification, or new part onboarding. Work cross-functionally with engineering, quality, and operations teams to understand technical specifications and quality requirements. Assist in inventory management by tracking purchase order delivery vs. consumption, and identifying potential material shortages. Provide administrative support: maintain procurement documentation, follow up on supplier communications, and prepare status reports. Participate in internal procurement meetings and assist in preparing presentations or updates for stakeholders. Qualifications / Skills Recently completed a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electronics, Industrial, Mechanical), Business Administration, Supply Chain / Operations Management, or a related field. Strong Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP) and proficiency in Microsoft Office. Good analytical skills, with ability to work with data and prepare reports. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities. Familiarity with ERP / MRP systems is a plus, but not mandatory. A basic understanding of manufacturing supply chains or electronics component sourcing is advantageous. Problem-solving mindset, willingness to learn, and adaptability to a fast-paced environment. During the Internship Period of 3 Months. We will pay Rs. 5000 as Stipend. After that, based on the performance, you will move to on-role. Role Overview The Component Engineer Intern will support the hardware engineering and procurement teams by assisting in the selection, evaluation, and management of electronic components required for product development. The role involves working with component databases, reviewing BOMs, coordinating with suppliers, and analyzing component lifecycle and availability. This position is ideal for fresh graduates who have completed their Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Electronics or related fields and are eager to gain hands-on experience in the electronics design and manufacturing ecosystem. Key Responsibilities Assist in selecting electronic components based on technical requirements, availability, performance, and cost. Support the creation, organization, and maintenance of component libraries, datasheets, and part documentation. Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to gather component specifications, availability updates, and lead-time information. Analyze component lifecycle status (Active, NRND, EOL) and recommend suitable alternatives when required. Work closely with hardware engineers to review BOMs (Bill of Materials) and ensure component compliance with design requirements. Help evaluate risks related to supply chain constraints, obsolescence, or long lead-time components. Maintain and update internal component databases to ensure accuracy across engineering and procurement tools. Support component qualification, testing, and evaluation activities as directed by engineering teams. Assist in preparing component reports, comparison summaries, and internal documentation. Qualifications / Skills Completed Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in: Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE) Electrical Engineering Electronics Engineering Instrumentation Engineering or related fields Freshers only (candidates currently pursuing their degree are not eligible). Basic understanding of electronic components (resistors, capacitors, semiconductors, ICs, sensors, microcontrollers, etc.). Familiarity with datasheets, BOMs, and basic electronic design concepts. Strong analytical and documentation skills with close attention to detail. Good communication skills and willingness to collaborate with cross-functional teams. Preferred Skills (Good to Have) Understanding of supply chain processes and component sourcing workflows. Experience in vendor communication or procurement-related activities (including academic or project-based exposure). Basic knowledge of component lifecycle management and risk assessment.
